Stage gimmicks took a hit in this patch, this is a before and after comparison of how the much damage difference is there
Devs have been nerfing wall break scaling since Tekken 7 season 3 but now I feel it's too much, you can probably get more damage in a open air combo

Maybe with floor/wall blasts, but not this man. Juggles are probably more damaging

I have only seen complaints about new wall/ floor blast though as those add 10 point damage by default earlier

Im torn. On the one hand i liked both watching and doing the big flashy wall combos. But of course i always thought the damage was excessive even when i myself was the one pulling it off. Growing up in the era of infinites and getting owned by the early 2000s lack of balancing shit. Idk 🤷🏾‍♂️ i like not dying in 2-3 combos. But i see why this would upset people.

Normally I'd disagree but t8 has so many 50/50 moments where 1 combo into another 50/50 is the end of the round. I still really like the game but i hope they do some more universal dmg nerfs to help out a little

Even then, the stage hazards are just flat out worse than regular walls now. With how heavy the scaling is, you'd rather be blasted out the window than take a standard tornado wall combo.

Why nobody considers white health removal with wall breaks? It wasn't just for more damage. It's still very much viable.

I guess the strat is to carry to the wall, dont break the wall and do your wall combo. After that, set up for a mixup at the wall and only break the wall if you get a wallsplat/low that wallbreaks.

I think a 10 point drop in wall combos is a bit excessive 5 points would’ve been fair. There should be a reward in damage with wall breaks but removing 10 points was overkill. Theres no reward other than an ego boost now

That was already the case with some reina combos If you did a combo before a wall break in training grounds, and wanted to get to the second wall, you had to keep her tornado for after the wall break and use heat burst , for overall less damage + losing wall pressure Now ? It is to be completely avoided

This community is stupid. As Paul if you pushed your opponent to the explosive wall it means that you can mix him with launching demoman and safe mid launcher(qcb2)

multi-wall break is the one that confuses me the most since it already dealt average damage if you used several walls tbh. i found it unoptimal to use several wall breaks before since ending in a wall combo usually is a better situation but now that seems to be case even more

It's not a good change, we needed damage nerfs but not like this. What's the point of having stage hazards when reaching one gives you less damage than an open juggle? A better solution would have been to increase the scaling on combos entirely, that way open juggle damage goes down and so do stage hazard combos, but they remain proportionally more rewarding than open juggles.

I agree with your statement but this is not the way to do so. 1. The damage is still there 2. Breakable walls give you 2 options. You either get more damage by breaking the wall OR do a wall combo that doesn't break it for oki. It is a resource that can only be used once per game The correct way to fix this is by having less stages with hazards

I'm guessing this is due to fast attacks that wall splat, like lars f2,4 at 12i, that then got too much damage on wall breaks

Honestly just depends. A single wall/floor break is still useful, but the multi breaks are absolute shit. I'm still getting decent dmg if I use it as a single extension, and not that stupid Lara combo that took away so much health.

THIS IS WHY THIS NERF IS NOT GOOD: 1. Combo damage in general needed nerfs, not just stage hazard combos. It's still wild that some characters can do 60% or more off of juggles without even hitting a wall. If Bamco wanted to increase combo scaling, they should have done it across the board instead of specifically making stage hazards insignificant. 2. Wall hazards are actually pointless now. In juggles, you'll get better damage just ending with a regular wall combo, and off of raw wallsplats, you'll get better damage from tornado wall combos. There's actually no reason to break the wall anymore, all it does is deal less damage and potentially lose your stage positioning. It's now better to get blasted out the window or exploded into the air over being splat against a regular wall.

Tbh i think combo length is overtuned not the gimmicks and wall break stuff and thats due to the high leaniency with juggles, its the leaniency that makes combos overtuned not these gimmicks. Namco went about it the wrong way. Right now just about everyone can bring you to the wall/multiple wall breaks in a single combo. Its to the point where a random trade leads to a full launch, ive seen situation where jin would get a ch f+4 trade, be in a long hit stun animation from the trade, recover and STILL have enough time to run in and complete the juggle like wtf. If the goal was to tone down combos which is what they have been trying to do for the last million patches (with damage nerfs to certain moves) then they should tone down the juggle physics then we not going to see these ridiculous long death combos to multiple wall breaks.

Scales way too much on multi wall breaks/floor blasts. It was overall a better change so u dont get deleted in one combo, but it shouldnt scale to that piss weak 50 dmg. But also, doesnt heat burst into heat smash scale incredibly hard as well?

But Wall Break never was a problem? They should REMOVE the normal wall Break damage ( or Nerf it to just 1-5 ) and instead make wall Break reset the combo scaling to 70%. This will reward the well prepared/practiced players to optimize their combos AND executions. While remove/reduce the easy damage from low effort wall breaks. The Problem was Wall Blast and Floor Blast that convert from Throws and Grounded hits essentially make it's launchers, The combo damage from mentioned Interactions should have nerfed scaling which is implemented from the last patch (but not enough imo), However they shouldn't nerf the Blast damage itself since the blasts should keep it rewards for regular combos.

Anything over 50 dmg is good enough Always put the "good enough" mentality up there folks, as long as you are able to deal more than 50 ot even more 60 dmg should be good enough damage

Just my take but what if you get recovarable heat if you break walls seems like it would be broken but it would give us a incentive in breaking wall breaks if the damage nerf is not changed.

I think that aspect got nerfed too, still better than nothing though. But who cares about recoverable health when your opponent would be dead if that was a wallsplat combo instead of a wallbreak scaled combo. Problem is not that wallbreaks are bad its that they should feel like a better advantage than normal wallsplats but now it feels like having a breakable wall in your back is more of an advantage because you get out of wall oki and get less damage than having a normal wall (or even worse a corner) in your back.

I don't believe this is a bad change. Yes, the damage is nerfed and you do more damage from an open combo. But your opponent loses white health from wall/balcony breaks and you still get a combo from wall and floor blast. I'm not a big fan of 2 touch and your dead fighting game.

Instead of going for the wall break .. do the wall combo and go for oki . Then u hit the opponent with wall break to get more damage .. I always prefer this option .. now everybody is gonna do this .lol

I don't really see the problem. People kept griping that wall blasts and floor blasts did too much damage. So they nerfed the damage, and now it's a bad thing? I'm not accusing Iamop of this, but I don't understand how there will be people in the Tekken community who'll constantly complain about something they want changed, then still complain when they get the exact change they wanted. I honestly wonder if other fighting game communities are like this, or are we just that special in the Tekken-sphere?

This is terrible. A nerf on wall break damage makes some sense but this is excessive. Some of these wall to wall combos can be quite intersting and hard to pull off but why would you do them for no extra damage? I feel like this change lowers player expression.

I hope this doesn't affect future map making decisions because TEKKEN 7's maps had very few wall and floor breaks and the maps were really boring as a result.

Good. The damage was insane before. The combos way too long way too easy and taking 60-80% life. I’d rather have shit wall combos. Play with oki and skill and not bank on heat smash and wall combos.

Good change, imo. This is the most snowball tekken ever because of shit like this. 1 combo with no execution leading to 75% of your life gone, just because it was a stage interaction (which you have on almost every stage) is just stupid and ridiculous and it will just contribute more to the snowball effect. I'm tired of games where my opponent Perfects me 1st round in 13 seconds, then I give him a Perfect, and it's back and fourth the same shit, basically who starts offense wins, because of dumb stuff like this. So, good change, and to whoever is crying about this, just stfu honestly.

Gimmicks now give only more combo opportunities, instead of being a damage (and wall travel) amplifier. This change is both good and bad, you will think more of the gimmick as a "strategic point" instead of monke go to 3rd breakable wall cause dmg go brrrrrr. But yeah feel free to abolish my statement :)

Only problem is that it's not even good for combo opportunities now. With how heavy the scaling is, you'd rather be blasted out the window than take a standard tornado wall combo. Hazard walls are now legit safer to be around than regular walls are lol.

But if breaking a wall mid combo doesn't extend the damage, what is the point of them being there? Also, you can get a combo off of safe mids that wall splat anyway.

Most complaints were about wall/magma bounce, not wall break. It’s a shame bamco nerfed them together.

@@yelowninjaur literally playing Tekken and ur crying about getting comboed? Doing multiple break combos is difficult and u should be rewarded. It also doesn’t happen often at all.
