I like how in the final film, wall-e was the damaged one, since it made it more emotional and more sense (well to me anyway). But I am happy we get to see what it was like if eve was the damaged one.

@@mrmentality8456 it's in all the versions of the game, though the PS2/PSP/PC version is the most accurate to the deleted scene. with WALL-E using his laser to cut EVE out of the garbage cube and then fixing her power core with a zippo lighter he was carrying.

i like the fact that in Wall-E they removed the scenes that were imperfect and replaced them with much better ones, rather than removing them for the sake of timing, or even just for the sake of removing them, and just leaving the space empty. some of the features in these scenes were better, perhaps, like a proper intro to the Wall-A's, but on the whole they definately made the right choices - and the results are spectacular! one of the best films in history!

I'd argue that WALL-E is equally, if not more advanced than the WALL-A units. He's adapted for a much more hostile environment, can self-maintain, and can hear. (There is no evidence of auditory sensors on either of the WALL-A units.)

And they were excellent decisions that turned these scenes into some emotionally powerful moments. This first scene in particular. We never doubted EVE's goal was to achieve her "directive". And we never doubted that WALL-E would do all within his power to save EVE. The original scene ended too cheerfully. The film scene has WALL-E telling EVE to fulfill her mission, but instead she opts to cast it aside, her very purpose, for his sake, which is a powerful statement. Pixar never settles.
