Cool to hear the original studio version. I've been digging the live version.

I saw them many years ago at Parody Hall in Kansas City. They were fantastic live.

Well, let me tell you who THIS is. You're conversing with the owner of this channel (which is on hiatus for ever it seems). Now tell me who you are, BRO.

One of the last vinyl albums I bought was Armchair Theatre by Jeff Lynne in 1990. I think that was the time when CD time soon conquered the world.

You did not need to format. Google fixed their stuff. You can make paragraphs now like before.

JeanGenie127 Wonder when people will finally realize that WOV were not Stan's band. Stan was long gone when Andy wrote this great song . My fav track by the best band I have ever seen in over 40 years of Gig going (over 1000 gigs). saw them 8/9 times in England in the 1980's. met most of the band. Great bunch of people. Bruce has confirmed recently that Stan wrote /composed little of the band's music. eg the tune for "mexican Radio " came from Marc Moreland (rip)

JeanGenie127 Thanks Jean. I received a fascinating e mail from Bruce Moreland a few months ago about WOV re his late brother , who wrote the music and what happened with the (deadful) production on Happy Planet. Love your comment re Andy P. Funny. No need to ask who your fav artist is "the Jean genie" (lol)

@shanedevins Neither. He left the band after US Festival in 1982, along with the drummer Joe Nani. Andy Prieboy and Ned Leukhardt took over the positions of singer and drummer, respectively.

KZbin is great but I hate sycophants raving about how this artist or that song is "genius" or "epic." Puke. What do you do then, about a group like WOV that had enough commercial success, skill & innovation that it should be gaining recognition despite the tide of time (much like the Velvets)? Laugh, I guess, at what life does to all of us. This is a great tune about how dreams and desires lead us to the lowest of places, full of humor, self-mockery by WOV and (per Prieboy: "Ha, ha!") wisdom.

"So what?" Exactly. When you say that "Those are subjective terms" then why don't you just stop reading what people write about songs because it is all subjective. So what's the appropriate response to yours? "So what."
