This is so relatable.. I’m my father’s only child and I just can see how hurt he is that he never had any guidance on how to be a man or a father.. and unfortunately, he doesn’t show up and be supportive as much as he think he does…. Which now makes me be ok with me having space from him altogether. Support is not swiping your card or reminding you how much you did financially when you were a child.. it’s actually being present and emotionally present as a father... It’s a weird dynamic on the other end especially when people are not in it themselves. As I’ve matured, I learned how to develop communication skills to communicate respectfully to my parents and my grandparents but, It’s like talking to a brick wall so i gave up. ❤

1:44:25 hit me hard. Its amazing what past traumas affects our confidence in us and affects possible good relationships with good people. However, i respect the person that walks away and admits that they are not ready and not take it out on a good person and being honest about it. His body language is also different in this interview, he's at home with and free and as a good interviwee as he is on other shows, this one he's just home talking to his sister and note there's not much eye contact as he does in other interviews cos he doesnt have to make his presence felt, it is already welcomed.
