You are so gentle with the newbies. It's such a pleasure to hear your ongoing encouragement and to see the horse respond. It is funny how little those jumps seem but how big of an accomplishment it is to get through a course with no run outs. Lovely run.

The "greenie gumby" wiggles make me smile but he seems to have a good head on his shoulders and he's really trying for you. Start boxes are verrrry scary!

Looks like you show him something and he figures it out. Skips over ditches, canters through water, jumps an up bank...what a good pony!!!

Love the work you’re doing with him! Nice, steady pace, giving him time to figure things out, and the reassurance all the way. He’s gonna be real competition in the future I bet!

He did so well with those jumps in & out the woods & dappled shade. He could have easily spooked but he just literally took it all in his stride. Good lad. Great ride & a splendid team. 🥰👌🏼

Do you have any tips for slowing down excited thoroughbreds? I typically do pretty well with them, but we have one big boy at our lesson barn named Redding, and he doesn’t really have a consistent pace. He’ll start off way too slow, but once he gets excited going over jumps, he’ll be extremely hard to stop and will just canter around the ring without stopping, and I’m not sure how to slow him down, and of course using the reins in any real capacity just makes him brace and speed up. Is there anything in particular that is important with making thoroughbreds slow down - or at least just keep a consistent pace?

He behaves like a 4 year old. At his age he could be riding Le Lion d'Angers (CCI 3*). Is there a special reason why you bring him this late to the business?
@WallaceEventing3 жыл бұрын
He’s had a bit of rough start when he came off the track in 2019 With people that misunderstood him and mishandled him. He had a year off as he was borderline dangerous. He’s been in my program a month now and is transforming. Also I tend to think it’s a bit much for the horses at Le Lion. I’ve started many tbs in their 2nd career at 6yo. This one is pretty smart he just has some emotional scars.
