Holy crap! I'm from Burleson, & still in the country not far from here. This place was awesome when it was open. It used to be a bada$$ Mexican food restaurant. I've just started watching, so I'll continue to watch & see what goes down. I never got any strange vibes when we ate there..but it's pretty neato to see someone in my hometown. Also, the HEB is amazing dude!

Our China King closed also in 2020. I sure do miss their food. Our Red Lobster closed also. We have so many restaurants that have closed since 2020.

The China King was originally a Mexican food restaurant, which was good for years. It is my understanding the problem with the China King was family related. The China Buffet down by Walmart opened about 6 months before the China King closed.

I checked Street View - it definitely closed in 2018, but the sign text wasn't changed at all (no 'closed' or anything like that) until sometime in 2022. And it was there since at least 2008.

I’ve spent my entire life around Burleson, I never ate here but I pass it all the time. From what I remember, there was something going around about it being shut down due to some s*x trafficking going on in the back of the building. Don’t know if that’s true, but there was a whole story on it.

Use to go there years ago by the end it was nasty dirty and basically a dump, it had of been one of the grosses places my hubby would drag me to, I'm not big into buffets but if you can make a good glass of sweet tea I'm ok.

Once a Mexican restaurant that old lamp post is 1 left that once lite up parking lot. Then China King. Was a great place. Mongolian grill , and buffet. I also remember a little water feature in main dinning room. The long skinny room was a meeting room/party/ workers used to fold cloth napkins ;-) It was shut down in 2013 by Burleson for violations of the city’s industrial waste ordinance, due to high levels of hydrogen sulfide gas. The city’s decision to shut down the restaurant was based on results of air quality testing inside sanitary sewer manholes and a sewer vent pipe downstream of the restaurant.

The abandoned sonic in burleson used to be a flower shop but closed down and the gas station beside that closed down a few years ago 😂😂

The abandoned sonic is not an abandoned Sonic. Sonic sold the property was sold to a Plant and Garden company, which was there for 4-5 years.

Let me tell you how powerful our minds are. I once ate at an all-you-can-eat buffet with a friend. It was a really good place, and I had never had sushi before. I grabbed some sushi, went back to the table, and ate it. It was really good, so I went back to get more. When I came back, I noticed a sign that said, "We are not responsible for the consumption of raw fish. It could lead to sickness or even death." After reading the sign, I started to worry. I went back to the table, kept quiet, and began thinking, "What if I get sick and die?" A couple of hours later, I felt sick to my stomach and thought, "This is it, I'm a goner." I started having anxiety and became a nervous wreck. Eventually, I calmed myself down, telling myself that everything was okay and nothing was going to happen. Of course, nothing did happen, and now I eat sushi and love it. This shows how powerful our minds are! LOL

So, at first glance, it's totally Texas.. the design. The place had tons of windows that were filled in on the one side. Theory that it was a large retail space with the windows all around. Maybe a furniture store or large appliance place.. when the restaurant bought the building, they needed to add the kitchen and back areas, walk in's, storage, etc.. and didn't need windows all the way around. The room left over up front: "let's put in a small skinny dining room for parties, etc"... haha.. enjoyed the video! 🙂Subscribed!

So I just finished watching & I can give u some answers as to why it closed down. If u go up 174/Wilshire (the road ur on) towards the HEB, there's an even BIGGER Chinese Food buffet. I actually work at a Sally's right behind it. So paired w/ Covid & having to compete with the other Buffet restaurant, they had to shut their doors. Like I said in the other comment, it used to be an amazing Mexican food restaurant. They made their own salsa, along w/ several other things they did differently. Hope I enjoyed ur Whataburger...Or wherever u decided to eat.

This place has been closed a long time. They are one of the only businesses that actually offered crab legs on the buffet, so my late husband & I used to eat there because of this. I don't know if it's true, but the rumor was, that this place got shut down for multiple health code violations...

I think the food was cooked here with better care. I heard some rumor about some kind of underhanded dealings going on which is why they closed but I don't know. Didn't hear anything specific. It was smaller than the double a but I think the food was better. Sometimes Mass producing food does not make it taste better. I like this place more.

i have ate here a couple times. it went out of business cause the food quality and cleanliness went down. there is a better buffet just up the road by walmart, part of the reason this one closed down is cause that one opened up. its been closed for probably 10 years and they just destroyed a golden corral that was next to it, bet this one is not long for this world either.
