You might have included how musky being the richest man comes a lot form ownership and not direct money. If Tesla takes a stock dip because it looses so much ground to established manufacturers that’s a lot of his “money” that disappears. Same for space, he is very dependent on the stock valuation for his money.
@AlexanderTheGoodEnough Жыл бұрын
@@SpottedHaresfair point, but it should be kept in mind that the absolute value of "wealth" is often "illiquid". Elon's wealth is largely tied to his equity position in TSLA, derived entirely from LEAPS options at the $2.5 strike. In order for him to use that money for other purposes he has to take out bridge loans against that equity (edit: or realize gains on that equity when his contract allows). It is NOT an enviable position, even if it is more than most could ever claim to have.

@@موسى_7 I didn’t say drugs. I said Alcohol. And while yes alcohol does impair judgement, it impairs judgement by significantly slowing down the processing of the frontal lobe- which is the part of the brain responsible for critical thinking, among other things. Humans have impulsive thoughts and feelings all the time. Most of us don’t say them out loud, or act on them, because our brain tells us “Not a good idea” for any number of reasons. Since alcohol slows that process down, we’re more likely to say or act on those thoughts. But those thoughts and feelings still generate from within us. It’s still who we are. Enormous amounts of money can cause a similar effect- but instead of changing the speed of our brain’s functionality, instead money tends to protect people from consequences. Because people are too afraid to challenge the rich person, or the rich person can just throw money at the consequence and make it go away. But if you go long enough not having consequences because of money, you’ll start to think you’re invincible, which will lead to rash actions.

He then let his own ego get to his head, buying his own bs like he made things like Tesla, PayPal, SpaceX and more, when all those things were made by people who were competent. He only put up his money. End of story. When he bragged about buying Twitter and making it profitable, what does he do? Destroy it.
