@AirRick my wife gets 45 minutes to. An hour on the 2 ah battery, depending on the stuff she trims. If she stays on grass... An hour. If she does some of the heavier stalked weeds, 45 min.
@congaronbo4 жыл бұрын
@@ltcray2381 well, I guess that's your experience. Ours lasted weeks of trimming around a 2 acre property. When we switchedvto Shakespeare ugly line... Far less string life than what came with it.

Thanks for the demonstration, my husband passed away a few years ago and I had weeds growing in the backyard. I'm in a HOA neighborhood in Arizona and weeds are a no no. I purchased this unit and your demo was the first one I saw on KZbin. It was very informative & helpful, thanks🏜

Just bought one for $40 on clearance. I needed a small, cheep trimmer to maintain my Dad’s grave site. The cemetery’s ground crew aren’t as picky as me. I like that it collapses to make it smaller and easy to transport in my car.

We have one of these and it works great. The only downside is the battery doesnt last longer than 30 minutes. Sucks when you have a lot of stuff to edge up.

I went with the Hart brand as it's better overall and not that much more expensive, has better warranty on the tool and battery. Plus I've seen too many of the Hyper Toughs being returned for different reasons. You can get the Hart 40 volt with battery and charger and not to mention it's brushless design for $127

I may just get one. Wish the batteries would fit my B&D blower but for $40 less Ill give it a whirl. Just need something to trim and edge a small residential yard. I like the auto line feature for edging. Line brakes constantly on my gas edger from concrete and bricks.

What feeds the line is every time you start it, it feeds a little a quarter inch.

It’s a good idea to switch the line to .080. It is much stronger and last a lot longer.

I am on my second of these trimmers just this summer of 2020. I cannot get the auto feed to work for the trimmer string. Is there a secret to this? I am following the directions to a tee each time but cannot get the string to advance when needed.
@HoosierOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I've yet to have that problem so it's hard to answer. Mine is actually feeding to fast right now and I'm trying to figure that out. Mine worked really good with the original spool but is over feeding with the replacement spools. Going through much more string than I need to be.
@elusivewolffogarty7383 жыл бұрын
I ordered the same exact one, 2 weeks ago from Walmart. We've been having rain, so I tried putting it together today. There was no hex screw, I can't get the handle on it and the holes don't line up for the 3 screws for the guard. I had high hopes since I physically can't push a lawnmower anymore. I was going to use it to cut the grass in my small yard but without the handle, it's too awkward.
@traciegrant3 жыл бұрын
I think the newer model doesn't need the hex screw. Keep moving the guard around until you hit the right angle for the screws. Mine lined up. The handle is a little tricky, but once the handle and the place you attach it are warm (think left in the sun for ten minutes), I was able to finally push the buttons in and get the handle on. Have a friend or neighbor help you put it on. It's well worth it. Good luck!
@elusivewolffogarty7383 жыл бұрын
@@traciegrant Thank you for your reply. I did have the neighbor put it on. I don't have strength in my hands anymore, but he popped it right on. I was thrilled... until 2 of the plastic shafts the guard screws go in, broke. One didn't break and but hold the guard in place, go figure.

You had the guard upside down. I scratched my head for a bit on mine too. About half inch off then realized i was putting it in wrong. Lol

I got mine back in July and watched videos to put together. Where the 2 parts of the handle come together it has two pieces that slip over the post - nothing like what you are showing. It has a hex screw holing it in place. Yesterday when i started using it the handle keeps coming apart and the cord qut feeding. After reattaching the handle and letting out more cord i gave up and came back inside. If anybody has suggestions on fixing my problem please let me know.

I have a 40 volt less than a year old. Has worked well till today when I got ready to trim and inserted the batteries it will turn 3-4 rounds then stop and do nothing. Batteries are charged. I can take batteries out and reinsert and does same thing. Run 2-3 seconds and stop.

It might not be cutting the string. Mine started doing that and I couldn’t get that string cutter sharp enough to cut so I started carrying scissors with me to cut the string when it gets too long.

How do you make it feed the string?

How do you actually replace the string in this 20v weed eater?
@HoosierOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Same as you would other trimmers; pop off the spool and wind the string around the spool. I believe it takes .065" line. Or you can buy spools that are already loaded with line and just pop it on there.

I've used a few different spools in mine and never had that problem. I would feel around the spool and inside the head for a burr that might need sanded off. If not you might buy the 2 pack of replacement spools and see if they will work. Hope you get it figured out!
