Question How to disable the lock button function... it is not unlocking by pressing the unlock button anymore. There is food inside that I am unable to remove. It still works when pressing start button or other buttons. Just the unlock button is no longer working

I bought one of these at the 2023 Walmart Black Friday sale. When I unboxed it had a horrible smell to it like the smell of a circuit board. I've been searching for information on how to get rid of the odor. GE and Toshiba recommend a mixture of vinegar, or lemon & water heated inside, I'm trying for the 3rd time. They say that the circuit board has to heat up & cure several times before the odor goes away. So far, after 3 days it still has a really icky odor. I have tried other recommendations; baking soda heated in water left to sit inside. Also the addition of vinegar to the baking soda & water heating it up again. Activated charcoal inside of it with the door closed all night 1st night & last night. Did yours have this issue?

We did not notice it, but if you are reading about it from multiple manufacturers, it must be common. Honestly, if we did notice a strong odor, we probably would have returned it thinking there was something wrong. Please share if you find a solution. It may help other people with that issue.

After 2 weeks of trying to get rid of the smell inside of the microwave I returned the microwave to Walmart. The store manager didn't seem the least bit surprised, as to why I was returning it.

Mine had a faint odor similar to what you described, but it went away after a week or two. I use it multiple times every day and it works just fine.

Just bought this microwave. Question, when I time cook for say, 20 minutes, on default power, the noise starts and stops as the glass dish turns inside the machine. Is this normal?

I’m not sure. I’ve never actually cooked anything that long in it. That being said, if you think something is wrong, return it or contact the manufacturer. That’s what I would do. Let us know what you find out. It could be normal or it could be an issue, I just don’t know.

I just bought this microwave. I cannot find a way to shut off display and sound. As it is used in a RV. We need these options. Customer service is a joke. I guess it goes back to Walmart for a refund and go buy something different.

I just bought the Mainstays 1000 watt 1.1 cubic foot from Walmart. It was only 20 dollars more than their small 700 watt model. They now have a child proof lock (required by federal law) that you can deprogram. My Oster microwave i bought at a pawn shop just went out on me after 14 years.

I haven’t tried this yet, but I read… Press and hold the “0” button on the keypad for about three seconds until you hear a beep and see “Snd” on the display. Press the “1” button to turn off the sound completely, or press the “2” or “3” buttons to lower the volume to medium or low. Press the “Start/+30 sec.” button to confirm your choice and exit the menu.
