close the multitool with the saw or knife blade out, then that locks it open and gives a handle to hold it I think is the procedure for using it

@@tcbink agreed.. it helps to have experience with tools to do a tool review.. also, I'd buy a few of them at $5 as beater tools..

Not available in our local 5 Walmarts in Philly suburbs. They used to stock many Ozark Trail knives in the past. Now no knives, guns or handgun ammo. I can't wait for more of the national sporting goods stores to expand into our local area.

In my opinion those knives are kit knives. great to put in truck kits and such for back-up and times when you don't wish to abuse your $200 knife. plus they are probably a steel that easily sharpened if abused. New sub here .. will be back to check out some more videos

last year I bought one of the $5.00 Ozark trail knives. I use it for things that I wouldn't use an expensive knife on. Like digging in the dirt. nice review.

Many people use the saw for notching jn bustcraft as well as taking down small 2-3" saplings for shelter building.
@CowboySurvival2 ай бұрын
That makes perfect sense.

almost every ozark trail item i have seen is put together with those tiny hex head screws that only hold things together by one or 2 threads.once things start to come apart you might as well throw them away because you will either not find the tool to fix them or you will strip the threads out when you try.

I tell ya what.. I just bought 4 of them.. I own a benchmade bugout, for $171 (i didnt pay for it, i had a gift certificate) and for the money I would take this ozark trail all day long

I went today to pickup the white cross lock and half the display was sold out… I got a few of the white and green and like them both…somehow I feel the white cross lock is gonna be the new orange ozark trail grail !!

I picked up the fixed blade last night for my wives get home bag. I need to find out what steel it’s made out of
@CowboySurvival2 ай бұрын
I "think" they are all stainless steel.
@CDXRK2 ай бұрын
@@CowboySurvival there's a multitude of different "stainless" that's like saying what cut are those jeans and saying"Walmart". Stainless could be 8Cr13MoV, 154cm or even CPM magnacut or one of the many other stainless alloys. For a stainless steel to be counted as stainless it only has to have 10.5% chromium in the alloy. All the other elements give different attributes to the steel so this guy's probably interested in the other elements to know about edge retention or toughness for a get home bag:)

They don't this kind of display at my local Walmart. They have the sporting goods & automotive & electronics sections behind locked glass. And good luck in trying to find an associate to come help you.

You use the "saw" to cut notches... not necessarily saw through timber.

The reason it bounces is because you arnt releasing the axis lock at the correct time. Its called user error not cheap knives

Bought a cheap tool one time. It failed on the second and third attempts to use. Took it to the concrete driveway, with a nine pound sledgehammer. Pounded it to dust. Buy once, cry once. Never bought anything cheap and make-do ever again. My tools are good, not necessarily the best, or I do without…from an old vet, retired in the foothills of the Smokies.

Umm...that's a serrated blade and not a saw bro.
@CowboySurvival2 ай бұрын
All I can tell ya is Ozark Trail calls it a "saw". Whether it is a "saw" or a "serrated blade", it is still kind of useless. LOL!

The “saw” on the multi-tool is more of a serrated edge knife than a saw.

@@OldManSurvival I don't disagree, but the package calls it a "saw"

Along with the multi tool you should also gift a box of bandaids Like the two knives

Those look like decent knives for 5$. Losing more than one of 40$ knives tends to get painful.
@davidcarothers33112 ай бұрын
Obviously you Don't Know what you're doing with the multi-tool! That one blade is NOT a Saw, it's merely a serrated blade like some steak knives. It's good for cutting rope, cordage, etc.
