you have to remember you need to place a premium on Walmart because it's revenues and cash flows are more stable even through a recession. So the stability and brand name with Walmart says a lot about it's business, they are also growing in delivery services much like Amazon And since they already have many stores these act as both a place where people can shop in person and a warehouse/fulfillment center. You can see how Amazon has transformed Wholefoods with delivery and the same is happening with Walmart. With this in mind WholeFoods has around the same growth rate that Walmarts entire business has and Walmart also doesn't have AWS or any cloud computing segment, they aren't developing chips or any of that jazz. But they pay a dividend and are probably going to be around if I had to bet I would say they won't be going anywhere and will continue to increase revenues as time goes on so with all that in mind I think Amazon and Wallmart are both fantastic businesses. I would lean towards Amazon however it's just my preference
