If that kit was just $15 to $20, it would be worth it just for the pouch/bag. Then you can strip out the Chinese crap and replace with better quality items you already have at home. If I bought that, I’d pull most of that stuff out, put in what I wanted that I already have, and just use the pouch/pack.

Match book from MRE ( water resistant) Fresnel lens Button compass Whistle (loud flat one from Tops Knives) Toothpick Diaper pin Sabre saw blade Hacksaw blade piece Razor blade ( single edge) Needle P-38 can opener * *( sharp items taped onto a card with clear packaging tape ) Photon Micro Lite flashlight Zip tie Pencil stub and paper Trail marking clip tab Clif bar snack Condom as emergency canteen (unlubricated) Coffee filter Large Bandaid and small Bandaid Alcohol prep pad Benedryl pills (3) Imodium A-D (2) Q-Tip Aluminum foil ( folded) for bowl making, cooking, signeling Chemical hand warmer Moleskin Rubber square from inner tube with cuts as fire starter Sandpaper Square 400 Grit for knife sharpening Dental floss roll ( unwaxed and removed from housing) Mylar space blanket with ranger band around it Rain emergency poncho NOTE : Many items are useful as tinder and otherwise multi-purpose. Weight under 1.5 pounds. This kit will be attached to you even if you aren't carrying a backpack or lose your pack. The reason the water bottle holder is important is you will need your hands free to deal with your emergency but you always want your water close.

It’s not a bad kit, but I’d definitely add on to it like you suggested. Replacing the knife for a fixed handle one, adding a multi-use tool and also a Life Straw for water or like you said to add water purification tablets. So many other items can be added to make this kit better.

For someone who doesn’t have survival or a Get Home Bag high on their priority list, this looks like something is better than nothing kit. Seems to me like a one time use item, just needs a few things added. I say it’s a good buy.

It's a standard IFAK Pouch with break away MOLLE mount with Survival items instead of First Aid supplies.

Replace the scissors with xshears, put gauze, liquid bandaid, medical tape and pain reliever pills, replace the multi tool with a Swiss army one, or a Leatherman, add clear liter water bags, purification tablets and a mini lifestraw water filter, 1 mylar blanket, 1 poncho, weatherproof matches, rite in the rain notepad, ductape around a credit card and of course a bic lighter. Should all fit nice and snug maybe add 25feet of bank line as well. Just the bag alone makes it a good purchase in my opinion

The bag is a Condor EMT rip-away clone, I suppose for the price it’s not bad as a starter but I would not rely on this but if you took your time and bought better replacements it could absolutely be a functional kit.

It's a weird mash-up of items and not really a survival kit. I was surprised it didn't have the emergency blankets as those seem to be in everything these days. I guess it's a good way to get a selection of items you can then use in other kits.

I received a bag like that from some where else just watch the snap s they tend to unsnap them selves with out warning and it will start flopping and working its way off of your body armor ! Other than that for a free bag as mine was I can not complain. I use mine for a back up med bag to go with my military first aid med bag for extra items and extra supplies

The best thing is that bag, but for 20 dollars or less it is a good kit. No matter what you buy it needs to be personalised anyway. Trade in the abundance of lousy knives for one good one. This one is a good start of an earthquake kit for the office.

I’m confused by your confusion of what a water bottle holder has to do with survival. A canteen wouldn’t fit the kit and this gives you a way to carry water with you. Rule of 3s. 🤷‍♂️

I would take some stuff out and add a couple things like a boiling tin or cup.i would ditch the mosquito net and spark and the whistle and the scissors. I also would add a mylar blanket. The fire. Starter and bracelet were good also the knife was good,I would ditch the knock off Swiss knife in favor of the spring knife
