Looks like need to be plugged in in order to use it or can I just walk outside to my car and charge the battery?

I think this more for jump leads, you should connect the negative first, then the positive. If the positive is connected first and you accident touch any part of the vehicle it will make a circuit and spark.

interesting. the instructions state for negative grounded circuits connect the positive first... Reminds me of a scumbag that asked for a boost. i said ok as long as i connect the cables... when i wasnt looking he reversed the cables and his battery started to smoke... total bloody idiot.

i was talking to an electrician, he says he doesnt know anything about 12 volt car systems or even how to hook up jumper cables so we can take this with a grain of salt. he is saying its good practice to attach the negative last as electrons flow from negative to positive. he also noted the charger wont be plugged in while making the connections. And that its more critical while boosting because you can get arcing if you dont hook up properly. i asked why is it good practice though and he got mad and said he doesnt know lol.... so there we go i guess. lol

what about its ability to auto desulfate battery . Happened to me and little battery was 'melting /hot' and my carbon monoxide alarm went off and house smelt like rotten eggs. Don't put out videos without knowing the product!!!!!!!

mine is still working I leave it plugged in all day but unplug it overnight, for 40 bucks what the hell.

I have the same charger, as well I've done reading on the Schumacher web site. The new modern transformers are lightweight and run cooler, so the plastic case makes sense, and having a fan (if needed) makes sense. As well, this model has a microprocessor so it can be left on the battery for long periods for maintaining, whereas a regular automatic charger can't be left on to maintain for long periods. This is a sophisticated charger.

Walmart is cheap and it breaks, I bought a charger "battery tender" brand for my bike, only 800 mA but I have been using it more on my car since it sits a lot as well but my car battery is old and abused, It takes a bit longer for it to charge (1 day). Car battery is 750CC . Always go with a good brand for a battery tender.

If anyone prefers the "craftsman" aesthetics and form factor, their battery charger is just a rebranded version of this Schumacher.

I thinking of returning this piece of junk. nearly every time i try to use it i am getting an error. Maybe my connections arent good enough so im not sure. its charging now... so im on the fence.

So the snowflake means it’s auto and the flat icon on the left side means it’s boat?😂

No idea but i notice it thinks lead acid batteries are AGM. It still works though.
