Not much to say here. We moved down after being invited, and we were in the same business. He was intimidated by the size of my business and how I operated and unfriended me. Both he and his wife didn't take covid seriously, and both passed away.

Sounds to me like you got caught into the "I'm RICH and could do what I want" trap, got greedy then went back down to zero. Many people do this when their lives suddenly become wealthier. It's hard to feel sorry for you because you lived way outside of your means for that instant gratification. When you made all that money that should have been a clear sign to live better but still simple. I would've paid off the house, stored money away, paid all my already purchased working cars and that's it. I will never understand the need for people to want more when they already got so much from what they had. Better vacations. Better homes. Better everything is not really so much better if your foresight to understand what could happen is skewed by your greed to want things you don't need. Greed gets the best of us.

We did step up our lifestyle and lived within the means that we were afforded at the time. We didn't live beyond, though. I'm guilty of not preparing for the bubble burst properly.

@laurieann5312 yeah we keep 25% of profits as our salary. On $400k in sales per year our profit is about $200k. Salary $50k. $150k bank into the business and handling debts that the business created for itself. When we cut sales to $200k in a year and I didn't do a better job of forecasting, we now have a debt problem. Our largest debt load was a bit over $200k, that's when we were building inventory. We worked it down to under $10k, moved from AL to DE with that small debt, and the rest is documented in the videos.

I've talked about my debt often in my videos and this gig won't get me out of debt but it allows me to pay my household bills while my other business pays off my debt exclusively without the burden of the household as well. Thanks for watching and half listening!

I'm not a huge fan of Dave Ramsey. But we aren't spending because 100% of business profits are going to debt. We aren't building the business right now either. Vacation will come after our debts are paid. Then we'll start working on the house, but I probably won't be relying on gig work for our income at that point.
