Watch as I build a frame for one of my favorite prints. This is the same process I use on all of my picture frames.

The picture frame looks awesome. That 2 part epoxy fill was unbelievable. I have seen people use sawdust with yellow wood glue and I have tried it but it never looks good and never stains well. That 2 part deal looked great. Thanks for sharing. New subscriber here!

Great Video of the process to build a frame for that gorgeous mountain view. I'm a photographer also and I appreciate great prints as well as wonderful hand made frames.

Absolutely a wonderful video, Mark! I really liked the milling of the walnut. What a gorgeous print, too. It's neat that I've been in that area so I can relate to the photo and the frame!

Thanks Scott! I had an archery elk tag in that unit last year so I got to spend lots of time there and saw plenty of those sun rises.

Great photo and a fine frame. I’m going to find some of those spring corner clamps for some of the artwork I have to make frames for. Do they leave a hole in the wood? I used a frame strap on past ones but the clamps look easier to use. I have used biscuits to hold the corners together but my recent frames i tried splines instead. Just as easy to make and use and they add a decorative element if I use a contrasting wood. I bought 7 prints from western artist Roger Archibald and made frames for them from mesquite, dadoed in a groove like your frame and put some antique barbed wire in them. They came out well. Using flat matte plastic sounds better than using glass so future frames will have that. Thanks for the videos and ideas. Keep ‘em coming.

Those clamps do leave little dimples around the corner of the frame, but I try to make sure they are in the center of the wood, so when I add they splines the get cut out.

First off, Thank you for this video. It was on time for me. I just finished making a pic frame jig to build some frames for my work and I have walnut and cherry to use. I will say there is a pic frame jig out there that works brilliantly. You should look for a better design or message me and I'll link you. No guess work.

I'm glad it was helpful for you! I don't tend to make too many frames, so I haven't felt the need to put a jig together just yet, but maybe someday I'll have to hit you up for some advice.

Is there an advantage to using the sled over a mitre saw? I build alot of elaborate frames and I am always looking for a better way. Every time I mix sawdust with epoxy or glue it stands out with a poly coat?

Great job. Cherry accent pieces look good but it's a shame you didn't have any flamed maple to inlay into the frame...would have really made it pop !

Nice. I do the same when it comes to the rated hardware as I fear the pics falling off the wall. I like your sled do you have a video showing the sled build?

Where did you get the anti-glare/UV resistant plexiglass from? I'm about to start making frames for my photo prints and that's the one material I'm not sure where to get.

You said you lay the front of the frame down so the front ends up more flat but then you cut biscuits by referencing the back side which inevitably becomes the flat side… help me understand.
