I like how you cleanup your property

I was stupid and thought I could find my ground just by staying in motels. That was my first lesson. I wasn’t as smart as you two. I visited South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, East Texas, Arkansas and Southern Missouri. Now it was getting on to winter. I went up to Illinois to bel with family for the winter. I bought a Z71 four wheel drive truck to pull an RV. Which I bought soon after. I left Illinois the first of April. I headed back to Arkansas just because I liked the area. I sat in Walmart parking lot and called at least thirty realetors. Only one knew of twenty acres but not sure about the creek I wanted. I bought the property the next day then it was a month to have the closing. Then Entergy the power company took three months to hook up my electricity to the existing power pole. I Havel water that is still not hooked up because I don’t know where the septic system is. The property has been vacant for 20 years. That just means that places that were just grass has grown up in boats and Sugar Gum trees which are not even good for fire wood. Later

Hey Gene, stick with it. It'll all be worth it in the end. One thing about sweet gum trees is that they're super bendy. I had them in the backyard when we had our house near the beach and they were mature trees that say MANY hurricanes and strong storms. If you want to have some nice tall trees for shading the house, that's a good option - BUT those gum balls are really annoying to clean up in the fall. Awesome little fire starters though. Nothing good ever comes easy. Keep fighting for that land!!

I love watching these. It's like we're there with you guys having a chat about your journey. I can't wait until 2020 is DONE so we can plan a visit. If the camper area is called the camp site, you have to have a fire pit! We all know how much Jon likes fire...

John and his snakes😂. Alex wants to move up there with you guys. Let me know when you are coming to get him, lol. Seriously though, it looks amazing, and I’m so happy/proud of you guys! It’s going to me awesome!

I've been watching a few of your vids now. I won't be lending advice because I'm in ancient history land for wherever you guys are now. It just seems to me that you guys are approaching all your projects kind of like dipping your toes in the water. If you spent some time watching KZbin you would see other people make the mistake of trying to clear brush with a weedwhacker or cut up a giant fallen tree with a battery powered chainsaw. The well, the pump, repair and replacement are featured on several channels. I hope you guys don't have to keep reinventing the wheel. Other observations, you guys are really good together. I mean you guys fit together like a jigsaw puzzle.

We were so excited in those first few days. I like to think we have gotten more than our toes wet now a year and a half later. Every day we are learning more while making memories together. :) - Meg

John - buy a tractor (not necessarily a big one) so you can put a bucket on the front, or a mower on the back, or a trailer to haul everything where you need it to go. And please buy a bigger chainsaw, and not electric - great that you are eco aware but you have a house to build and LOTS of work to do! Love D&DeeDee

That electric saw gives Meg a lot of happiness. She actually claims it as hers. Haha, and don't worry, manly tools are coming and the tractor is on order (not even kidding). I plan on getting an old school bottle of Old Spice after shave as well with some new plaid shirts and a stanley thermos. ~ Jon

@@WalnutsandWineberries OK, I'm off the ledge! You had me worried for awhile. By the way, DeeDee and I both think you looked tired in the video, get rest. You are going to need it to get through this project.

Okay one big issue I see here and not sure you have thought about it but how exactly do you intend to get your water to the top of the mountain? Your pump is only capable of pumping x amount of feet above pump level or head feet if you will. I can tell you right now, the pump you have will not pump water to the top of that mountain. Have you consdered that yet?
@WalnutsandWineberries2 жыл бұрын
Luckily, Meg's uncle is a retired well digger. He assured us a booster pump at the top would get everything up with ease.
