Thanks so much, Walrus! 🙏 A welcome update to an already great device. Besides more gain on tap, the only other thing I felt the ACS1 could use is a lower volume when using the headphones (I find myself always turning VOL down a good amount when switching to headphones). For real though, thanks for the increase in gain as that was my main wish and it seems you’ve executed well. The new functionality of the boost is really cool too! 👌

Fantastic firmware update. I love this pedal, but I had to run an overdrive pedal in front of it to get it to break up with single coils. Won’t be necessary any longer. Kudos.

Thanks! That was the original intent of the pedal was to be totally clean getting to edge of breakup. But overtime we decided we should experiment some more with gain and here we are!

After updating to 2.0 did you notice on the Fullerton (clean, low gain setting) some unwanted combination tones when playing a minor sixth interval? (ex: intro of Slow Dancing in a Burning Room) Unless it's some kind of firmware glitch that only I got, I'm curious why no one else picked up on this nuisance. Fullerton, low gain, clean tone, any cab. Please comment!

This is awesome, I really wanted to buy one but was being put off by the lack of gain comments in several reviews. I’m definitely going to buy one, if you wanted to put another knife in the competition maybe add a spring reverb….!

Thanks! And just for clarity, it isn't a reverb knob in the sense that an amp would have a spring reverb. It's intentionally a "room" knob to emulate the distance of the mic to the speaker cab!

You know what? I’m seeing this and thinking: definitely need to update my ACS1 ASAP, because this revision is outstanding. I’m thinking it’s also Walrus Audio shirt day, so I’m rocking that right now too. I really like my ACS1 already (and its form factor) and have tweaked it with some third-party IRs (including a few from TF and one from Michael Westbrook) in a few slots, but I figure they’ll sound a bit different with the update. Time will tell, but these new stock ones may be just the thing.

Does the bass, mids, and treble knobs act different for each amp model? Ac30 6tb doesnt have a mid knob but a cut so does the amp model mid knon act like the cut or is just a mid knob?

Nope, just don’t turn the gain up as much! And we’ve keep previous firmware available in case you want that instead!

Please keep that old firmware forever, that's the best clean tone in the world! I think this pedal position on the market is to be the one beautiful clean preamp, if people need overdrive, they must have their favorite OD pedal like klon clone. Andertons make comparing video for Iridium, ACS1, and many other pedal, and when they do a blind test, they choose ACS1 is the best clean sound, so i think your company should keep that clean tone, that's your position on the market, don't become similar with other preamp, this pedal already beautiful as it is. 😊👍

I can't seem to find any info on how these amp sims will work as a clean pedal platform. I generally use a Fender style amp set crystal clean and get all of my gain from pedals. How does the Fullerton take a high gain pedal?

It's still a great pedal platform. The clean tones are still there, but now we've added in more gain options!

​@@MrJingles021yes it does barber dirty bomb and metal zone work fine as well as fuzz. Just don't max gain and add more gain on top and expect it to be great. Everything within reason should sound good

The cab can be bypassed but not the amp.

Hey! Yes that is what this pedal is for! It emulates three different amps and speaker cabs. You will need a D.I. / Line Isolator (like our Canvas D.I.) to connect you to the front of house / mixer.

It will override previous presets and IRs. Since it's all new firmware and amp models, your previous preset wouldn't sound like it used to anyway!

It's a shame this pedal has gone down the more gain avenue... clean was the way to go... loved the earlier firmware sounds.
