Absolutely amazing video, Mark. You really highlighted some great features on it, and I’m very pleased you also brought up its quirks. Like the honesty. One question for you, do you feel that it not having analog dry through is an issue, or perhaps a benefit? And, why would they choose to go that route over analog dry through? Running a wet/dry rig could be an issue with latency from digital to analog conversion. I think anyway. Cheers, and thanks again!
@walrusaudioeffects4 жыл бұрын
This allowed for us the pedal to do a full wet/dry mix.

walrusaudioeffects thanks for the reply. What does that mean, exactly? (Hope that doesn’t sound negative in anyway, I’m truly curious, because I have say the El Capistan which is analog dry through and goes full wet/dry - I believe anyway!). Perhaps I’m misunderstanding.

Drivez Insane ah. Makes sense now. So full wet in one channel of my signal blender from OBNE type thing? Blend in what you need/want?
@markjohnstonofficial4 жыл бұрын
If you are running a wet/dry/wet rig you should be prepped for phase inversion already as a bare minimum cautionary measure, with that in mind any theoretical latency from the conversion could easily be solved for. And I appreciate the kind words about the video. I think it's more valuable to discuss quirks and potential issues with a pedal even more so with a pedal like this because at the end of the day I am HUGELY impressed with this one. Even with some drawbacks I still find it to be a killer delay that I enjoy the hell out of and will be using on mono and stereo rigs moving foreword. I hadn't even considered Walrus' reply about using it as the junction point for a wt dry rig but that is actually awesome.

I have a question, maybe stupid: if I put this pedal after a mono chain, and use the mono input, the manual says in this case the pedal will act in dual mono, if, eg, going out to a stereo reverb. Does this setup will compromise the dual stereo mode and be less "bouncy" in the stereo field?

Thanks for the video! I have two questions: 1. Doesn't look like you're going stereo from Immerse to Iridium. Is the second cable hidden? 2. Have you tried delay and reverb after the Iridium? Did you like it better last in the chain? Thanks!
@markjohnstonofficial4 жыл бұрын
I like using the iridium last for two reasons; 1. I like adding that “amp feel” to my wet effects. 2. I use the headphone jack for setting stuff up and randomly testing ideas so it need to be last. And the Neunaber stuff allows you to run a TRS out of their second output to run single cable stereo. It’s amazing and is a super convenient way to get to TRS stereo in pedals like the Meris and Strymon pedals.

Hey there! So ran into a problem. . I'm plugged into my amt preamp mono...then mono out to the D1... Then stereo out of the D1 into a stereo Reverb then into two amps... 3 presets that you cycle around by pressing both foot switches at the same time (the right led goes from blue to green to red to tell you which preset you are on) and there’s an A | B | C switch to give three different sets of presets. Mako. And while you're at it, get the Mako R1 also. Best 2 pedals around. And look how much space you save.

The flanged repeats on the eccos is very unique. I would say it has a sound not found on other delays. The mako is more versatile and a very powerful for the footprint. Not sure I’m hearing anything distinctive about it though. Depends if you have other delay pedals IMO
@BTNMNKI4 жыл бұрын
My main concern with this pedals it that they've gone too far with the compact enclosure. Those footswitches look like they're very tightly spaced (same thing with the JHS and ealier Walrus Audio delays) and I could easily see that being a problem in a live setting where you migh turn it off when attempting to set the tempo or vice versa. And probably even worse on a dark stage.
@markjohnstonofficial4 жыл бұрын
It’s possible that my bias comes from a LOT of stage time with Chase Bliss pedals but I don’t ever quite seem to have that issue. Besides, I almost entirely use midi to bypass and control tempo these days so the pedal is more of a brain and less of an interface for me.
