Thanks for another brilliant demo, Mike. Your methodical, no-nonsense approach has given me a great overview of what the D1 is all about. Plus, your playing and musicality are always inspiring. I guess this is why you continue to be my first stop when I'm researching pedals!

What a Gorgeous sounding Delay!

Definitely has CBA visual aesthetic, but sounds so sweet. I couldn’t bond with Tonal Recall. Watched couple of videos of this pedal and it sounds amazing from the first note played.

Pretty sure I'm going to own this. And I'll probably be about 180 of your soon to be very high view count! Thanks as always Mike!

Appropriate song choice for the demo and timing...Martin Luther King did beautiful things here on earth. I have the thermae. This pedal has that feel in its sound to me from the demos I've seen. The Thermae has dreamy echo sounds...very organic. I see D1 is stereo. Amazing! How long have we asked the Chase Bliss for such? I only have the SLO from Walrus. If it's touching that way it can sit in a mix in your effects loop the way the SLO does...its probably amazing to play. This coupled with price point makes this pedal a pursuit for me. Delays are wonderful.

Nice ! U2 FOREVER. I was thinking about getting the Tc electronic flashback but when I herd this one this sounds a little close to Unforgettable fire guitar tone. 🤘😎

Well, it's a big price difference. The flashback does his job pretty well for the money

Awesome demo! I’m checking this one out since Walrus Audio and Sweetwater are knocking $100 off right now. I also have my eye on the Strymon Timeline, but that one is a bit pricier. What is your opinion: pull the trigger on this one or save up for the Strymon? Thanks!
@FastRedPonyCar Жыл бұрын
This or the strymon Dig? or something else I don't know about yet? UA Echostation? full stereo in/out is required

Do all the parameters work together simultaneously or do they only operate as which one your on?

Seductive demo (as usual). How easy/quick is it to change pre-sets with the onboard foot switches?

Which do you prefer Mako D1 or Eccos (Keeley)?
@johncruz18114 жыл бұрын
mer mer come on mike I have the same question?
@nathanschad80484 жыл бұрын
Same question, Edit; I own the Kelley eccos and it’s awesome. Ask me anything. The eccos has an expression pedal in and separate remote in and this one doesn’t, your able to blend in or out the effects with the exp pedal on the eccos. And the eccos has a looper which you can also use the exp pedal to fade in or out the effect. This seems to have more parameters then the eccos though tweekability wise

This or keely eccos?

how is the noise floor of this pedal? I couldn't use the ARP-87 because even in bypass mode it increased the noise floor a lot. Returned my first one because I couldn't believe it wasn't broken. Second one had the same amount of noise. I really did my homework while trouble shooting to eliminate all other variables like cables or bad power supplies. Yet I loved the sound of the delay. This one sounds amazing as well and I like the small form factor. It it's low noise this would be amazing!

@Brady Stromme I've got the Mako D1 now and it's dead quiet! Guess that has to do with the new shark technology in the Mako series.

Man....just when I thought I was done buying delay pedals...
That reverse delay isn't really reversed, is it? Strange
@bioklastik10624 жыл бұрын
It's strange that this is the only demo of it where the reverse doesn't sound reversed.. I wonder what was up with that.

What does your board look like these days?
@legaspiaudio98303 жыл бұрын
The Strymon DIG sounds soooo much better, & offers a richer tone. I had the opportunity to try the walrus D1 & found the presets , & operation to be worth much Less than your asking price. In fact I think your product is overpriced for what it does thus, returned it to my local guitar center.. Just keeping it real!
@TCMx34 жыл бұрын
Mike great playing as always. But I have to laugh at this thing. Walrus is clearly trying to evoke the Chase Bliss aesthetic/thing but in typical Walrus fashion they just always come up with some uninspired white bread verison of whatever they are trying to do, and this one doesn't even have the clever graphics they normally have. Plus by the time you are spending 300 on a delay you are probably also able to swing a Tonal Recall, Timeline/Source Audio delay or whatever Alexander delay you like depending on what you want.
@popintothechemist4 жыл бұрын
TCM I have to strongly disagree. This is one of my favorite Delay pedals. I bonded with it right away. And it doesn’t really have anything in common with Chase Bliss stuff... same amount of knobs I guess...
@spieglass32114 жыл бұрын
the attack knob is unique and brilliant, and the only way it really seems like a CBA pedal is visually. It has lots of voicings and different delays all in one. CBA has too much going on with their stuff for me, not sure what the problem is here.
@TCMx34 жыл бұрын
@@popintothechemist If you like it Im sure it's a good pedal. But personally I do feel when I look at it that it's definitely trying to cop Chase Bliss' design cues. It's not just the number of knobs, it's the two rows on top and then 3 switches, plus some of the line aesthetics, coupled with probably unavoidable stuff like the footswitch/light location and the side jack layout that to me scream also-ran from CBA. Just what I see when I look at it.
@liamtahaney7134 жыл бұрын
Hmmm I happen to really like walrus. I'm not sure how one could reasonably claim their stuff is "uninspired" or "white bread." Lillian, Julian, and monument are all basically best in class for their modulation flavor at their price. The slo and fathom are both highly regarded verbs. They make tons of great dirt pedals. So I mean, we all bond with different things, but I think objectively walrus makes a lot very excellent pedals.
@bobisadrummer4 жыл бұрын
The thing that sets this apart from the other pedals in its range is the dual delay setting.
