Sounds great! I’m currently playing harmonica through the Walrus R1 reverb. This Monumental would follow nicely.

Your intros make me think i need every pedal
@markjohnstonofficial6 ай бұрын
Honestly I think the takeaway of that should be that you don’t NEED any of this stuff. Writing the intro songs is my favorite part of this whole gig and if you’re a fan of the songs I’m writing with different gear every time it’s probably a sign that it’s less about the specific gear and more about just sitting down and writing
@AmateurGameReview6 ай бұрын
@@markjohnstonofficial lol it was really less about me needing the gear and more about the talent we are all seeing. I have zero interest in another tremolo at the moment but the notification pops up and we all click to watch what you play. Well done man. Seriously it's all brilliant

Love the idea of reverb ahead of tremolo...I typically toss it after. Sounds fantastic.

It had me at the Pan control ;) Really happy they put this out. I run my Vox AC amps in stereo, and it's great to have an analogue opto tremelo, but in stereo. Because there aren't many stereo tremelo pedals out there. And it always felt like a miss, because they often live end of chain and high depth. Price is not so bad either. I was kind of wincing, expecting it could be 350. I wonder if a Zoia Euroburo could do the midi to cv thing drive this with a clock pulse. The harmonic trem is a nice bonus too.

I also see the Sunflower Deluxe Tremolo as probably the only competitor to this one - with a couple more features and with a higher price. Let me add from my personal experience: the UI on the Sunflower can be overwhelming with so many secondary functions. (That said, I so much love the drift feature that changes the tremolo speed randomly). The Walrus Audio Monumental IMHO seems to hit the sweet spot w/inspiring possibilities AND a straightforward UI. Great job, Walrus Audio! However, in case you ever consider a V2 - these are my 3 wishes (the fairy always gives 3, right?): 1. add that wonderful drift feature that changes the rate randomly 2. make the subdivision expression pedal controllable 3. let the waveform seamlessly blend from one to the next, so we get all the nice in-betweens 4. add a symmetry feature so we can have the waveforms off-kilter 5. try the impossible and keep the UI straightforward…

Which do you prefer overall, the sunflower deluxe trem or the walrus monumental? Thanks again for your reviews!

@@kasomeno Personally, I do prefer the Walrus Monumental - too much "menu diving" with the secondary controls on the Flower Pedals Sunflower Deluxe, at least for me…

Loving the new "see you play" camera concept 👍

Its slightly more of a hassle to navigate but I agree that its a solid single camera solution to a two camera problem.

Man, when you drop back in at 1:00 with that 6/6/4 phrasing - so so good. And on a pair of Fenders! Meanwhile, the Gravitas has always been all the tremolo I needed... but the stereo here is awfully tempting.

Ive been wanting the Flower Pedals Sunflower Deluxe for a while now for a good multi type stereo tremolo, but i like what Walrus has done in this version and its much cheaper than the Sunflower. Im definitely going to give this pedal a consideration when deciding which stereo tremolo i end up buying to round my board off.

This is one of my favorite intro tracks you’ve done! Excellent work!

Ahh thanks. Definitely made some conscious choices to switch it up with some of the arrangement choices. One of my actual favorite things about this is how the “amp gain” feels with just a boost and the UA dream. I’ve always struggled to make those UA amps breakup in a way I dig but it feels at home in this one.

Very nice. I have the Keeley Hydra which is a stereo trem, but this one ups it with the waveforms, harmonic blend and ability to control the pan without accessing a secondary function. All big pluses. Also really like that Walrus is offering the 2 designs, similar to the Slöer... the black looks great.

I absolutely LOVE these minimalist colorways they've been doing lately and if they ever started doing them in white, I think Walrus Audio might bankrupt me because I'd buy them all with zero hesitation.

The only other pedal in this space I can think of is the sunflower deluxe tremolo from flower pedals ($350) it has ramping and acceleration controls and more waves and options but if you dont need the ton of options the sunflower had this at ($280) is definitely easyiley a good competitor

Great demo! Ive been dead set on the Fulltone SupaTrem2, but for the same price I think the Monumental beats it out spec-wise…. I do think the Supa2 sounds a little edgier, but I can make it edgier with other factors. Sold on the Monumental!

I love the trem sounds but am hearing a lot of pulsing noise, like subtle white noise. I assume the pedal doesn’t have a high noise floor, but I do recall my Meris Mercury 7 did something similar with the phaser enabled. Curious if that’s just a thing with these kinds of mod pedals or due to gain or some other settings. Thanks for the super informative video!

how can you have harmonic and standard tremolo blended? wouldn't that effectively just cut out all the highs (or lows) when the volume drops?

Ever tried not playing the most generic chord changes you can think of in every single video? You play the same chord progressions every time, you don’t get bored? Since the chords are so lame, the melodies get really lame too. Try using an extended chord once, or maybe try to change it up a bit? Your melodies will get a bit more interesting. But maybe you’re just interested in being adventurous texture-wise, not melody- or harmony-wise. Guess this is just not a channel for me.
