WALSH Thomas Shot put 22,67m Analysis January 2018 Waitakere

The New Zealander shot putter World champion Tom WALSH has confirmed with this early year throw his leading position on the World scene with one of the best ever performances achieved. The 23m line is getting closer and closer and it is about time that the World record be "refreshed" . The rivalry with the American throwers Ryan CROUSER and Joe KOVACS could be the trigger but it is also obvious that the spinners have improved their technique end efficiency and for most of them their physical specific conditioning and philosophy. Indeed , Tom is not the strongest under the heavy bars , but he is certainly the fastest inside the circle and makes an incredible use of his right leg . There are also a few points in his technique which are quite specific and show some interesting orientations and technical options. So , hopefully there is more to expect from the men shot put scene and the "big bang" is likely to happen anytime !
