"Walt Disney - A Magical Life" Attraction Announcement &. Meghan Trainor Performing "Feed the Birds"

Josh D'amaro announces a new Disneyland attraction at the D23 Disney Experiences Showcase. "Walt Disney - A Magical Life" will feature, for the first time, an audio animatronic of Walt Disney himself. This new show will bring together the past, present, and future of Disney storytelling. Magical Life will play in rotation with "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln". The announcement was followed up with a performance from Meghan Trainor singing one of Walt's favorite songs, "Feed the Birds"

No one asked me. I kind of assume there's an appropriate length of time before "resurrecting" a historic, real person this way. I think I might feel less uneasy if it were an attraction during which guests witness the return of a vanquished villain. (to be honest, I don't care. It's a blasted theme park after all.) I also think MKingdom needs this Disney animatronic more than DL. I bet a lot more visitors know little to nothing about Walter Elias in that park.

It will be a hit? My reaction is sort of like that expressed when news of a Lincoln animatronic was announced for the NY Fair, but that turned out fine, I supposed in the end. I doubt Walt will destroy his chair or experience paroxysms onstage as Lincoln did initially. Disney fans need one forum to cheer "Yes. Can't wait" Hurrah.. We need another in which to have discussions without being labeled negative or over thinkers or whiny or never happy. One can be both. It's just bad in KZbin comments when the two types of reactions get mixed together.
