Back when this program aired film print copies were made for affiliate TV stations that could not receive network signal. There were stations then that did not have equipment for color broadcast which is why there are black and white prints.

1. German actress, Elke Sommer. Check her out in "The Oscar." 2. It was a play on an older US stereotype that European films were sexy. I'm sure the whole skit played upon Elke's sexiness... you noticed her outfit, right? Anyway, so it was a sexier version of "Mary Poppins." That was represented by that song. The original was "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious." Check that song out here on KZbin!

Walt Disney, one of the worst racist in his day, even worse than FDR
@TheDylandProductions3 жыл бұрын
Total rumor and completely unproven. Hung out with and befriended racists, sure. (So, was complacent) However, hired more jews in the industry than anyone else at the time. Even sheltered some from McCarthy. Through Song of the South, got the first ever black male actor an academy award win. Even enemies of Walt Disney disagree with the racism rumor, and that's saying something. To be fair, one could say similar about FDR - rounding up Japanese to protect them from local American racists... but it was massively overdone, and definitely race motivated. Without a doubt, the most racist American president (or perhaps American period) was Andrew Jackson. Pro-slavery AND forced American Indians from their home in what became known as the trail of tears. Plus a history of using the war of 1812 as a cover to sack indian settlements and tribes... disgraceful. Walt Disney was no saint (heavy smoker, drank easily, definitely racially insensitive by today's standards) but was no racist. Educate yourself! Imagine if, 50+ years after you died people were spreading lies that YOU were racist, huh? Wouldn't be so funny then, would it!?

@@TheDylandProductions keep in mind, that he fought against his employees unionizing and spoke to congress about Communists elements in the union. I'd be willing to bet that's a big part of why people smear him as a racist to this day.
@gerrydooley951 Жыл бұрын
yes and there were communists in the union, that's a fact. Disney thought he had been very good to his employees and was very hurt when they went on strike. Things were never the same at the studio after the strike was settled. @@piperian3962
