I love how he had the personality to downplay things, "the family fortune was wrapped in Snow White.....but it's fine, it all worked out." Like dude, that was incredibly high emotion for you and your whole family!! He is such an inspiration, humble and creative. We need more Walt Disney's out there.

Those who display these qualities are quickly ridiculed and discredited today. So many people's minds have been corrupted by poor education and a lack of culture so that they see anything and anyone on this high level to be something to pull down.

I still completely love his voice. It proved how many films under his guidance turned out so successful and memorable under his reign and supervision. He was such a visionary and he let his audience know it by his weekly programmes. Still one of history's greatest film-maker and story-teller. RIP and thank you. Walt. x

The fact that he can joke about how some people dislike Fantasia so easily really shows a lot of maturity which most Hollywood studios, Especially Disney itself, these days are unable to display.

@@L0RDK3Y What Eternal Optimist means is that The Disney Channel and it's sister channels don't show classic stuff with Walt. Instead they show that stupid teen-pop stuff (Hannah Montana and The Jonas Brothers, just to name a few).

@@dannydorko7075 I think that's very accurate. That's all the more reason the Disney Channel should occasionally air documentaries to show young people who Walt Disney was. Most kids have no idea who Walt was unless their parents/grandparents go out of their way to educate them.

I've always wanted to see this interview from beginning to end. They show bits and pieces of it on just about every Disney-related documentary, but I've never seen the whole thing.

From the beginning of animation (early 1910s) up until the 1970s, the basic tools of animation remained the same. Pencil, eraser, translucent paper, and cameras to take photographs that would then be transferred to plastic cels to be inked and then photographed again when layered together to make a scene. With their talk of Walt's Animation School, there's a reason why people today often think All Animation is Disney. It's partially true when most of the world's animators studied at his school.

Speaking of "Fantasia", "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" was likely the most important sequence of the movie, marking Mickey's comeback after Walt started focusing more on Donald. I'm also happy that they mentioned "Pinocchio". :)

God, this man is worth 1.1 billion dollars in the 60’s! Insane!! Imagine a world without Disney. Imagine how much he would be worth today since all the Disney movies since the 60’s along with the parks and is company all together! 🙏🙏

Actually Walt was correct Snow White premiered December 21, 1937 but was not actually released until February 4, 1938

True Walt created some amazing characters but that's only because they're true origins belonged in the public domain and Disney ruined that by extending the copyright claim just so they can keep their characters practically forever

dude, the characters are still in the public domain lmfao. it's just that you can't use clips of their animation or their songs that they made. other than that, not much is different. you can make a pinocchio movie if you so choose.

Javier Burgos Well then copying is copying and rip offs are rip offs. If people want to do Disney imitations or copies then they can deal with the legal or negative implications. Either way Disney will always be associated with its characters because that is just part of the legacy.

Not all. And when they weren't original ideas they were old tales like Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Rodin Hood, etc. I wouldn't really say he was "coping" them, these stories were extremely olds to begin with, even in 1930.
