I recently purchased the UK VHS and while I'm happy with it I wish I nabbed the Masterpiece version. I believe it is the US exclusive version and it has all of the old pamphlets and adverts from the mid-90s, really cool older stuff.

I not only have The Lion King Masterpiece VHS, but also the Deluxe VHS Box Set (unfortunately missing the lithographs, but has everything else and the tapes are still sealed), The Lion King Platinum Edition DVD and the Platinum Edition Gift Set (Brand New Factory Sealed), The Diamond Edition and the Walt Disney Signature Collection Blu-ray releases.

I remember when I had the first lion king, it was the original one from 1994. Now some scenes are deleted, I don't know why, but it was a family masterpiece

Even if VHS tapes hadn't been replaced by newer technology for videos, if you were watching these ancient copies of timeless Disney movies and not fast-forwarding through the previews, upon watching the previews that say "Coming Soon to Video for the First Time" or that use terms like "This Thanksgiving" you'll probably think "Oh, my goodness! This is all old stuff!"

Hakuna Matata Nah. Copies of this are pretty easy to come by. If you look on eBay, multiple sellers have sealed copies listed for under $10. That's a clue that it's not very rare. To find it sealed in a thrift store for just a dollar, on the other hand, is somewhat rare and that's why I bought it.
