That piece that starts at 8:36 is my favorite piece of Disney music, EVER. I know it’s “Golden Dream,” I think. The actual piece isn’t like this bit. I wish there was a version that was just this. But, there isn’t. I used to put on the Explorer just to hear that bit. Lol

Thanks for the info, I own this game and got the audio from the cd-rom but I wanted the original songs that made up the WDW explorer tracks, and I got most of them but I looked for the small world instrumental and found a video with the "IllumiNations 1988" but there was no "small world" in it. I really want to find it but I don't know how, also can't find a "golden dream instrumental" that sounds anything like the one in this game, please help, any further info about this would be highly appreciated

Sorry to keep posting but I found the small world only in someones home video on youtube that had plenty of background noise it's still better than the only real golden dream instrumental on youtube which had dialogue later and part of the loop is cut. So really I'm both glad and surprised that you know so much about this since I would never have found this info otherwise too bad not all the songs are out there in pure form, but thanks again

There's a lot of music on the game that I still can't figure out what pieces they are. Mainly the Norway pavilion music (when they talk about the stave church) and the music that plays during the "construction of Disney World" section.

Now to respond to your question, I have to say I quite agree. Honestly though, a good programmer might be to one day create a fan 'third' version of this game if they wanted. Truth be told, I'm learning computer programming at the moment, so maybe one day I'll try to see if I could give such a 'third' fan version of Walt Disney World Explorer a try myself.

It's magical, and it's exactly the same music as that played at Disney World (Don't believe me? Check this out Main Street U.S.A. Area Music (WDW)); it's not that low-quality 8-bit music that they put on some old games. I love the instrumental versions of Once upon a Dream and Flitterin'.

+RyanBurns Compatibility mode doesn't work, but virtual machines work like magic! Create a virtual machine with Windows XP (or earlier) as the operating system. Check out the article "Forget the End of Life Woes: Windows 8 Has an XP Mode." Using the virtual machine, you can play old games on modern operating systems (such as Windows 7, 8, or 10).

So the 1998 version had no music for the Animal Kingdom maps? I had the 1996 version.

The 1998 second edition was released a month or two before the Animal Kingdom park opened if I remember correctly, so it basically just gives a preview of the park and what’s going to be in it. As a result, there’s no unique music.
