This is more in-line to what the rooms should look like at Contemporary - and these Swan Reserve rooms costs considerably less!

But the contemporary has more of that Disney feel! And swan and dolphin is just full of convention dudes pretty annoying 😆 the only advantage staying here is prime location 👍

@@uik99 That is a good point.I was mainly talking about the overall quality of the room. Tom Corless did a tour of the new rooms of the Contemporary a little while ago and the workmanship of the finishes, etc. was really sub-par! (If a contractor did that kind of work at my home I would demand they came back and did it again, as I did one time). I stayed at the Contemporary in 1978, and then 1981, 1982 and an other time a few years later and it is a wonderful resort overall, no question! And you can’t beat the location and being on the monorail loop. That being said, the Swan and Dolphin are one of the “Epcot” resorts with walking paths to both Epcot and the Studios, as well as being next to the other resorts that have numerous places to eat, etc. We just booked at room at the Dolphin (the original part, not the Reserve) for the second week of June. I got a AAA rate (because it is run by Marriott they have that option whereas Contemporary does not) for $360 per night, and that is a suite that has a separate living area and bedroom! (Total of about $425 with taxes and fees). The Contemporary by contrast would have been nearly $900 for a standard room (with a theme park view, a bit less for Bay Lake view). So that is about $400 per night in my pocket! And we love the location because Epcot is the main park we want to go into the most.

The Swan Reserve is owned by Marriott, and this room has more theming than the Disney owned WDW resort rooms that have been renovated in the last few years.

Completely agreed. In 2019 I stayed at 8 different WDW resorts, some were better themed than others but most were themed. Then they recently redid the Wilderness Lodge rooms and they lost all charm. The headboard in this room alone is more interesting than those. That wall art at 3:50 mind of reminds me of the painting in the lobby of the Caribbean.

Ain't that great? If everything is the same then it would be boring. The Disney themed might attract a particular demographic you know but this is nice.

I stayed at the Swan with my wife (at the time) in the mid-90s and I saw a ghost! I was a cast member in those days. I told someone at the desk very early the next morning and they (unofficially) told me that others have reported seeing things as well..

As they’ve destroyed the Contemporary where we usually stay for around 4 weeks a year we’re seriously looking at staying here. Cheers Eric.

I stayed in in the Swan Reserve over the weekend in a regular room. It was awesome. Friendly, professional staff, a great restaurant and a 15 min walk to the IG. It has a boutique hotel vibe. I am going back in Sept.

So much nicer than what Disney has turned their deluxe resorts into.

How does this compare to the Dolphin, what's the differences?
@WDWNT2 жыл бұрын
My opinion is that it is nicer than the much older Swan or Dolphin.

Yes. It was booked with Bonvoy points.

So... what's so special about it being a "Junior Suite"? Looks more like a regular hotel room or am I missing something....???
@WDWNT2 жыл бұрын
It looks like the main difference is just that extra space with the closets and table.

We’re doing a 2 BR here in 2023 for WAY less than a deluxe resort.

A little disappointing; this "Junior Suite" is less impressive space wise than the Alcove/Deluxe rooms at the Swan. As a Marriott Lifetime Platinum, I'm inclined to say pass on this - especially since the exterior could pass for an office park in New Jersey.

I didn't ask the front desk, but their website indicates they have rooms available with a number of accessible features.

At least they’re not white hospital rooms like at the Contemporary, Pop Century, the All Star resorts, etc.
