I firstly knew that poem from the movie "dead poets society", but in french, as I am, and I started recently to learn it in english, and, loving music and speciaaly guitar, I searched for a beautiful version of it, and didn't thought I was gonna find something so beatiful.. thanks!

Stumbled upon a little gem from way back in two thousand nine A beautiful musical rendition of 'O Captain! My Captain!' So enjoy and be sure to find Kim Panags, that gives the humble tune and the poet writ famously known as the one--Walt Whitman

Beautiful, full of pathos, a really good tribute to both Lincoln and Walt Whiman. I love the melody, which truly captures the sadness and pain in Walt's poem. Your voice is beautifully clear and does transmit the melancholy and painful emotion in the poem. Congratulations, you are a song-writer and a sensitive young girl. Do not stop composing, playing the guitar, singing, and--especially--reading poetry. All of this will enrich your life and the lives of those around you. :) -- Jim Valero.

Hi there! I'm an 8th grade teacher and every year we memorize this poem and The Road Not Taken. I've been showing students this video since I first saw it in 2009 and I want you to know ALL my kids love it and have so much respect for the beauty of this song. I'd love to send you a pic of the kids watching it in the pandemic this year. Maybe consider writing one for The Road Not Taken? :) - Ms. Elliott
@kimdoesmusicstuff3 жыл бұрын
Ms. Elliott! I love hearing that and would absolutely appreciate a picture of the kids watching my video. Funny enough, the two poems I had to memorize that year happened to be O Captain! My Captain and The Road Not Taken! so maybe I'll work on that for a future video. Thanks so much for your support and also for being an educator! I appreciate you!
