Sadly I didn’t find out until today in an email from Hillsdale College. I read an obit from the Washington Post calling him anti-government, typical of the Post. Dr. Williams was a proponent of LIMITED government, a government that governs best by governing the least. A giant among men.

I remember I spoke with Dr. Williams via the phone. I called George Mason University and they answered my call, and then I told them I wanted to speak with professor Williams and they transferred me to his office. However, I was extremely nervous so I only told him I admired his works and the way he is with people. He only said, “Well, thank you.” I then asked him if he was still going to teach at GMU and he said yes. Two months later, I sent him an email asking him if I could sent him an article I was writing and that since I was going to mention him I asked him if he can give me his opinion, and he responded saying “Yes.” Two weeks later, he passed away. I did finish writing the article, but it brings me a lot of sadness the fact that he cannot read it anymore. I’m sure he is proud of me from him. I was never his student, but he has influenced me a lot. I hope one day we can see each other in heaven, Dr. Walter E. Williams. 🥺

We will miss you Walter Williams (rip December 2, 2020). When I hosted the showing of his documentary “State Against Blacks” at Kenyon college in 1985, most of the otherwise highly educated liberal arts majors had never even heard these basic libertarian economic arguments. In fact most of the attendees believed that the documentary was the usual fare of grievances. His very different perspective was refreshing in the intellectual debate.

These are some of the very important philosophies that I have tried very, very hard to abide by since the 6th grade. They are: 1. Treat other people the same way you would like to be treated, 2. Think carefully before you talk, 3. My rights and your rights end where another person's rights begin, 4. Don't mess with the Bad, because the Bad don't mess or in other words, "Don't purposefully insult or provoke other people and try to avoid a physical confrontation at all cost because it does not prove anything. At the same time, if someone is truly a Badass they are usually not a bully because they have nothing to prove and beating up a little guy like myself would only prove that they are nothing but a bully. So when someone posing as a Badass started a fight with me I would immediately, without warning punch them in the mouth. 99% of the time that was enough scare the poser back into reality and they would leave me the hell alone. Bullys don't like being hit back and they only pick on those who they believe will not fight back. Of course, my older brothers taught me this. They said, "If a bully even looks like he will hit you, just blast him in the mouth as hard as you can with a with a powerful right hook (bind you knees and get low to the ground, tilt your upper body to the right and drop your right fist back behind your right knee and then move your upper body quickly to the left while bringing your right fist into the left side of the bully's head and don't miss!) Just the shock value alone should be enough to stop the bully in his tracks.
