Aberdeen fan here, I was very emotional when Walter passed away, it felt like the end of an era. Walter being g one of the last old school Scottish managers. Up there with the best. Huge respect for a great manager and family man.

Celtic fan here but Walter seemed like a great footballing personality, great manager & sense of humour, sadly missed

tell your fellow fans to stop celebrating his death then .

I don't personally know anyone that does but I can't claim to speak for everyone and unfortunately there are idiot supporters who follow both Celtic and Rangers who if they had half a brain would be lopsided.

@CraigWeir-q5v there's going to be arseholes on both sides. Look at the respect Walter and Ally had for Tommy Burns yet we still have folk in the Rangers support singing about his death.

Rangers had some amazing players, Gazza, Laudrup, Klos, Negri, Woods, Albertz, Gough, Goram, Hately & McCoist etc etc along with many many others but I'll be here all day writing them down and of course a great manager in Walter Smith. R.I.P Sir Walter.

the gaffer was different he knew when to let loose and knew when not to but he will go doon as the greatest ever manager in rangers history but the relationship he had with Tommy burns was absolutely brilliant a man who was celtic and the gaffer who rangers who had a major friendship was out this world

Jeez, his win rate at Rangers was 66% over 380 games ! That's incredible ! RIP Mr Smith.
@JudgeMazza Жыл бұрын
Only 66 percent for a team that only had about 9 hard games a season? That's pretty fucking bad.
@MrChewy79 Жыл бұрын
How’d your managers fair over that time 🤔

Ignoring the fact the league was way harder back then and much less of a gap between the other teams and Old Firm. Hence why trebles just didn't happen compared to the gap now
@bigbadbluenoserfc Жыл бұрын
he won the league basically every season and took rangers to 2 unbelievable european runs against top teams, once whilst skint, managers that are considered failures have a higher win % but when it comes to trophies he is king@@JudgeMazza

That's great what was said that Gascoigne wasn't interested in tactics . Basically he didn't need to be micro managed . His skills belonged to him he was a performer. Nobody can teach that.

Aston Villa approached him at the same time and they were a strong Premier League team at that point. Sir Alex said he's the best player he wished he had managed. Injuries done him.
