Victory over sin, in my humble opinion, is one of the greatest miracles we receive from God but we also have a part to play; we have to be willing to quit sinning, ask Christ and He will give us the strength to stop sinning. It's a daily struggle, as we behold Him, as in a mirror, we're gradually changed into His likeness. That is, I believe, what Paul meant in Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. And likewise in verse 8 of the same chapter we have to bring our thought processes in conformity to the will of Christ that we may not sin, even in thought! But lest anyone should boast the victory is His, not ours. May the Lord continue to bless you and strengthen you, brother Walter and brother Martin. Lovemore, Fresno, CA.

This really helped me. Sin is at the root of all evil, and in direct opposition with the character and attributes of God. The Lord has been good to me. Jesus is a really good friend. His mercy is proof enough of how great he will be to us for the millennia!

Thank you so much for this "Bread." I've had a very difficult time with, "be ye perfect," and yet knowing that I am with sin. Our heavenly Father and His Precious Son, Immanuel, are so loving and longsuffering with "slow learners" such as myself. And so, it appears our Merciful God has brought Walter Veith and Martin Smith for such times as these. Oh Glory!

thank you very much to both of you fine gentlemen may you stay loved and protected by the grace of our Father...once you are truely born anew it is impossible to continue with sin..yes it is a process and little 'accidents' happen along the way but with time and Jesus in your hart guiding your every step you shall sin no more...keeping the law is no effort but more a by-product of this NEW birth..

Sad to say but seems like whenever I hear a discussion regarding not sinning I do not hear any talk to do with our part of cooperating with God. Struggling with ALL our heart, mind ,soul and strength against temptation. Perhaps one of my favorite quotes from SOP in essence says at times in our walk in Christ and fighting against sin we may feel like we are tearing ourselves into pieces, but this what we MUST DO if we will ever grow into maturity in Christ. This walk with Jesus is a battle and a march.

When discussing Christian perfection I like to bring up Mar_4:28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear, and also Mat_13:8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. Perfection in God's sight is relative to our stage of spiritual growth. We don't cast off our baby because it dirties its diaper, because we love our child, and we know it will outgrow that behavior. If God is our Father, and He is, then He loves us and wants to save us more than we even want to be saved! Cheers!

Though you guys somehow don't seem to see it (must be something like scales, eh? I no doubt have them myself) I delight greatly in the plainness of the Book Of Mormon, which takes many divisive questions and answers them simply and logically. "It is by grace we are saved, after all we can do." "If you are without hope then you must be in despair, and despair comes because of iniquity." Check it out one day with much prayer...

from the comment talked about between the 2 of them after the 33:00 mark, what came to mind is a sop quote that's meant to imply 'being a Christian isn't the hardest thing in this world, but rather, being temperate in all things' (can't really point to where it's found, but e.g.w. did write a lot about temperance)..

Thy way, O God, is in the Sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God? Psalms 77:13. We must be perfect in our sphere as God is, in His sphere. ... We must be covered with the robe of Christ's Righteousness; ... Send all our sins before us to Judgment; ... No sin can enter Heaven. Jesus is very God. Thank You dear Heavenly Father for opening up the Way to Heaven unto us, so that through Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour, all who choose You may enter in. As You continue to enlighten us through Your earthly Messengers, Martin Smith and Walter Veith, my all who so desire, by led to find Salvation in You, through Jesus Christ. Amen. I anxiously await W U? P #60. Blessings to each and everyone.

I have wanted to talk to Walter for 10 plus years and talk about everything he couldn't truly talk about here. He hit the basics but passed over so much. Predestination is real and so is will. This is huge and most haven't the capacity to comprehend it. And no pastor can ever touch it in public so I understand. But God will have his number and we are just too pathetic.
