its never in your best interest to talk back to an officer who is already showing you that he is on a power trip, Walter denying that he was speeding would be like talking back to him for this officer and it would have escalated his demeanor towards Walter. he was already getting aggressive just because Walter wanted to shake his hand. that is what his body language was telling me. if my colleague would display that kind of stance without a damn fricking good reason, I would if I could pull him aside and call him on it. No at that point they reason to believe that he ran from police which they could have detained him but they were nice enough to just make him sit for a minute and that camera had evidence on his camera "[t]he right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." Those are the fourth amendment rights so at that point they had reason to believe that he ran and they had probable cause to take his keys

D Max Dan I could totally be wrong here but from a quick google search I gathered that; they can in fact seize your camera and try to justify it in court. While they cannot search the device without a warrant, they CAN search the physical aspects of it like the battery, case, etc. Now obviously with the sd being so easy to plug and play on any device, I get the feeling that they might cut some corners and check the sd without a higher up around. This is a very tricky situation to patch but hopefully GoPro comes through for us
