I just stumbled on your video (again I must say) because I looked out for information about Walther's Q5 and Q4 PPQs. I want to buy one of them and now I have to decide which of both is best for me. Thanks, your video ist packed with information about the Q4. Combined with knowledge I gathered from other sources I would say I will go for the Q4. It seems the Q4 and Q5 are the same construction. But, the Q5 is layed out as match model. The Q4 has a muzzle thread to it which I appreciate. Most of my neighbors are fairly old seniors and I don't want to frighten them by shooting that loud. I already got some silencers that work with CO2 guns the best. So again. thanks.

Such a nicely made pistol let down somewhat by a very poor power level. I'm not asking for .44" Magnum power, but less than 1.5 ft lbs is poor. Agree about the tedious loading.

Always been my gripe,Germany and Europe get pistols made to their power limits,not asking for a 'gazillion ' foot pounds but we are allowed 6 for our pistols ,why not 3.5 or 4 accuracy would probably improve too??

Yet another great offering from Umarex. Love pellet co2 replicas. Iam sorry but i am firmly NOT in the blue trigger camp but to each their own so it would be this one for me.
@sergentcolon1 Жыл бұрын
Nice looking gun, I have the venerable cp88 which I believe was the first co2 replica that Umarex made. It has a couple of modifications, a stainless steel insert to replace the pot metal alloy block that holds the slide opening spring, a common failure point where the screw strips the thread and a front plate with a 1/2” unf thread for a real silencer which tames the bark considerably. I think the 8 round rotary magazines are far better than the belt type. I have five and it makes reloads a lot easier, giving me 40 shots before needing to reload the magazines. Ok it doesn’t have blowback but for that I have a military sand coloured 1911 bb blow back which has a proper single action trigger rather than having to pull a belt round.
@KyleTheDalek Жыл бұрын
Why only half blowback? I don’t see the point of this, Umarex makes some good stuff but cut corners.

Hey, I think I remember you mentioning some time ago that you're from Finland as I am as well. Do you have any recommendations for above 115m/s pellet air pistol that works for left handed users, can fit more than just flat tip pellets and has an ability to fit a reflex sight on top or via adapter from the bottom rails. In addition, preferably not a beltfed mag due to them being pretty fragile with bad trigger forces required. If it's Co2, then I'd rather have it not waste too much has on a powerful blowback. I've been looking all over our airgun sites and youtube videos, but there's like nothing that fits all of my criteria perfectly. It's like some kind of psyops by these companies where they always leave in major faults to not have a "perfect" gun to force people to purchase new guns later.
@smokyz_ Жыл бұрын
I mean, I did find some contenders, but there's always some kinda fault with the builds, like a barrel that just shoots to the side
@brorjordas1979 Жыл бұрын
@@smokyz_ Yes. Loviisa, Finland, represented here.😁 Pellet, nbb or gbb, somewhat good trigger, capable for optics - and for a leftie? That L-hand already may take out many - due most replicas with optic capability might be scarce.. I'd recommend maybe an UX Walther CP88 Comp. Shoots over 115m/s. Windage adj rear sight as og - which can be switched out to a pic rail for any optics. Mine had a rail and optic when bought as used. The mock mag release only pushes out the left grip plate. Damn good co2 pistol if want a replica and do target work. Safety lever works on both sides. I love mine. I think the double-action even shoots accurate..
@smokyz_ Жыл бұрын
@@brorjordas1979 Ye thank you. I have looked at it previously, but the price put me off a bit. Didn't realize you could fit a reflex sight on it too, that changes everything then. Which would you prefer, black or chrome version? I feel like black looks more slick, but dunno about the paint quality and how it will handle wear.
@brorjordas1979 Жыл бұрын
@@smokyz_ Yes. The price of a brand new CP88C is quite high imo too, especially nowadays. I thus bought mine as used some years ago. The prev owner had bought a separate picatinny rail and red dot for it already, so I kinda got lucky there. But I think it is an amazing pistol model. Back in the years it kinda put me off , and made me choose the CP99 instead. But I do now think the CP88 model is a better choice over a CP99. And the CP99 (with decocker, not the DAO-trigger CPS model) even is not cheap nowadays. I can't say about the black finish - but my satin finish has held up well imo (esp me not being even the first owner).

I had the Q5 and it goes back to the Dealer because of the Belt System in the Magazin and the stiff Trigger. There is to much Friction in this kind of Magazin. Even with a good amount of Silicon Oil, the Friction was to high and a lot of Force for the Trigger was needed. To much. The Sig Sauer P17 has the better Belt System and much smoother Trigger. Shooting both Free Hand and with the O5, I was all over the Place. With the P17, it was a Point and Hit. And only for Display, the Q5 and the Q4 are to Expensive.

I’ve got the Q5 match..my first belt fed pellet pistol as I’d seen various videos on the fact they wasn’t great and snapped easily but bought it based on the looks thinking I’ll give it a go..oiled it up, ran it in..I’m about 500-600 shots in..still a terrible design but a beautiful air gun..Umarex really should go back to the 8 shot style system..this would of been a easy one to do and a missed opportunity..they think people are obsessed with capacity but function, design, quality and accuracy should come first..this and a Glock in the 8 shot style of a cp88 would sell like hot cakes in my opinion..I’m disappointed as this was my first purchase from Umarex in about 10 years and I kind of think I know slightly what I’m talking about..they won’t be getting any more of my money..regards freeballer on the UBC

You can fit a proper suppressor to these type of pistols. I have the Sig Sauer p226 with a Hogan Decimeter fitted and all you hear is the blowback slide and the impact of the pellet. I was dead impressed and had to use a Guntuff adapter to fit as it has the same thread as this PPQ. Highly recommend and the suppressor is around £50 bargain.

That is a really good looking and clearly high quality Co2 pistol , perhaps with a bit more lead down the barrel will help it bed so the the accuracy improves a bit , or maybe it's a bit pellet fussy like My ASG CZ P 09 , it took me ages and I must have tried at least 20 different sorts of pellets before I found something that actually cycled nicely and was accurate . I found surprisingly enough that it actually Likes H&N Baracuda Green lead free pellets , the harder pellets seem to work better in the magazine which was prone to gripping the lead pellets resulting in a squib shot with a pellet halfway through the mag and partially in the barrel & a jammed pistol where the mechanism wouldn't cycle and the mag won't extract , it's easily fixed with a plastic drinking straw pushed down the barrel (On Safe with hammer dropped locking the trigger, Stay Safe!) and now functions as intended unless I forget & let the C02 get a bit low in colder weather , and the groups have improved drastically from 5"- 6" with lead to around 1.5" frequently . I almost gave up on it and am really glad I took the time to find out it's preference. Thanks Andy catch You next episode , Shoot Straight Stay Safe & Stay Well.
@brorjordas1979 Жыл бұрын
The FPS truly was not that high, considering the blowback is a short one, and the pellets used were only 7.5gr. Can't but wonder how come... Surely though the fps oughta then be more consistent over a longer shot string if being more of a target shooter than an action plinkerer..
@johnfranceschi3271 Жыл бұрын
Hey, air pistol manufacturers; we can handle 5 to 10 ft. Lbs, just sayin'. It would be nice to have a pistol that doesn't spray you back in the face with weak pellets that bounce off of plywood...

@davidhalliwell6844 Жыл бұрын
You may find that with the un- moderating moderator fitted, the FPS will go up a little. This is due to the barrel length being increased and air pressure goes up accordingly.

Probably because you don't have power limits on your air guns. I'm sure that with this gun being such low power, they probably think that it would market better in the uk with our 6 ft/lbs pistol limits. I don't think this kind of power would sit well with Americans, would it?
