Those cheep nasty cherry tomatoes for a quid for around 20 are the best targets in the world. some BBq sticks in the ground and pop these on them. I set dozens at all different range. Great fun

Take a 2p coin and the paper caps we all used to use in our cap guns, not the plastic things but the rolls of red paper with the hundreds of small dots. Wrap tightly round the coin about a dozen times. Use a piece of sellotape to bind it all together. Et Voila, cheap reactive targets with a bang and smoke.

I have the ducks as well but can't recommend them. They will bend with even 7,5J because the metal is so cheap. I recommend getting a few spoons and hang them on a stick so they can spin. Cheaper and they will not bend, even after a few thousand rounds.

This brings back a memory from when I was teaching my young nephew to shoot many years ago and we were using polos to shoot through the hole. I showed him how it was done over and over again and he kept saying wow I hope I can shoot like you one day. Little did he know I was purposely missing because for one I’d even struggle to get a string of them to set the bar, but it it kept him amused for hours or until he’d shot every pellet I had. And do you know I don’t think I’ve ever told him yet nearly 30 years later, sometimes I’d clip one just to look as if I was aiming for the hole but funny nevertheless.

Oh man! This was a good video! Allkinda nice targets! The pellet catching duck box though, apparently only catches the missed pellets..😁 But box targets like it and the likes are always nice to have. I've though mostly made my own targets n boxes. Got a string resettable box with 6pcs of 60mm plates to shoot down. Quite large targets yes, but it's mostly for close range replica rifle and pistol plinking rather than for real target work.. The Reign.. A very nice pick for this video. I really want one for myself too. A massive thanks to Andy and crew for yet another sweet video for my Friday morning mug of coffee..

Great video Andy, lots of cool targets! 👍 For a couple more ideas: sidewalk chalk is good stuff! It's very easy to cut into smaller slices (any kind of small handsaw will work) and its no problem to tell if you've hit it. Also empty shotshells are good for plinking at and are virtually free, just grab them from a skeet shoot. 👍😉 Everyone have a great weekend and happy and safe shooting! Pete 🇨🇦

When I was a kid old Airfix model planes that I no longer wanted to keep made good targets, albeit they did not last long and there were many bits of plastic to clear up afterwards. Best session was with a plastic model battle ship that was floating along the stream at the end of a friend's garden. Firing from a lying position the misses looked great as they sent up spouts of water near the model. Other targets included match sticks and tiny little 1/72 scale model soldiers. Happy days.

I would inform all my neighbours about the exploding blanks. Give them some rough days when it takes place and perhaps a time frame. People get grumpier when they're nervous or kept out the loop. Better still invite some over to have a try.

At approx 17.30 re The yellow ,stick in ground target. Down here in Oz the ground is pretty hard. I made some wooden skis from 2 by 4 inch off cuts roughly 2 feet long each . Some holes drilled in the timber allow the steel legs a firm steady base for the target frame. Cheers from Downunder 👍🇦🇺🇬🇧

I've been waiting for AAR to do a target review. This is probably a long shot (pun intended) but does anybody remember the Targ Teknik field target box advertised in Airgun World, February 1987. The target box was a big deal at the time, with a hefty review including a centre-page poster of the target and its companion Chrono.

I use those too! Only because I don't want to walk downrange every time after shooting them, I suspend two of them together by the rings. The challenge is not to hit the ring and separate the lid from it prematurely. They can take a lot of fire untill they are done. After that I do end up shooting the lid off the ring. They are suspended in a manner that keeps them from rotating freely so they face you at all times. I also like to suspend drink cans by the ring without bending the ring up in the same manner and then shoot the can in two so the bottom falls off. If needed I go downrange and rotate the can along the ring a little to expose the remaining parts better. In the end I shoot the top part off the ring again.

I reccomend not shooting at the Umarfex magnetic knockdown target closer than 10m. At 6 yards, which I can accomodae indoors at home the targets themselves can go concave, even with sub 12ft/lb rifles, and the main pivot for the targets is made from plastic for the most part. This has broken on mine.

Make your own shoot n c by getting some card, yellow preferebly, some wide sellotape, and a can of black matte spray paint, tape over completely the card then spray it black, when dry, draw by scratching cirles and a bullseye, saves a lot of money as the shoot n c are around £12, for 10 targets, doing it my way gets you 36 for a few quid

I’m seeking a sub £250 177 PCP, Gas Ram, or worse case springer. I’m in the UK, therefore sub 12ft Ibs unfortunately.
@ytucharliesierra
@ytucharliesierra Жыл бұрын
Honestly, sub 12ft lbs is largely sufficient for plinking, especially if you have longer distances available, say 40 meters or more. We in Germany are allowed only max 5,5ft lbs and we still can have a lot of fun at up to 25-30 meters, provided we have that distance available that is. I currently have "only" 15 meters available in my attic and I still have lots of fun. That power is sufficient for me and I feel like I don't need any more. We aren't allowed to do pesting anyway and I am glad it is not required since we have no pest problems. At least I don't. 😊 I don't know anything about Gas Rams. PCP is not an option for me due to the extra costs concerning a compressor, etc. I understand if you are skeptical about springers but Andy is showing in several vids that springers really are not that bad at all. I love my HW57 springer and I am always glad it is completely power independent as opposed to pump/compressor for PCP or even Co2 platforms. If you are on a budget and you wouldn't immediately dismiss a pistol, you could consider the Beeman P17 or its less cheaper "father" model the HW40 PCA. With its precompressed air feature it has virtually zero recoil, albeit only 2,5ft lbs. 🥴 By my humble opinion and with my 5,5ft lbs experience I don't think you can do anything wrong with a decent entry level springer rifle i.e. from Diana and sub 12ft lbs is certainly no impediment to some good and fun airgun shooting. Cheers from Germany!

I like to suspend soda cans by the ring without bending the ring up with a paperclip so they can't spin. Then I shoot the can in two so the bottom falls off. If needed I go downrange and rotate the can along the ring a little to expose the remaining parts better. In the end I shoot the top part off the ring. It requires some challenging target work as you progress but it saves you a lot of walking. 😉 Tons of fun!

I like the snooker target. Favourite home made are little blocks of wood which fly off higher than a russian tank turret when hit properly.

Just want to share a good target. I take used paper plates, stack 2 with a nail in the center, and on the back use a marker to make a + between nail and edge. Then rotate a bit to cover holes. Nail it to a tree or wood of choice. You can put several + targets on a plate

So not a tree hugger then. 😉 If you are going to shoot ammo into a tree - make sure you use copper instead of lead.
