Love the blue contrast of the LOK Grips with the trigger. Such a nice pistol. I have the regular Q5 Match but have never shot the SF model. Thanks for another well done and informative review.

That Q5 looks identical to mine. Same LOK grips, same color & pattern. The hump on the back of the original grip is comfy but it you don't get a perfect draw you have to adjust your purchase on the way to getting on target. After shooting my P320 in IDPA the Q5 immediately made me a better shooter. Race ready right out of the box. Shop around for the price.

Love the look and feel of this gun. I’m a huge fan of my PPQ, and really wanna get a Q5 SF & a PPS M2. Those are some good looking grips, but you should also check out the Overwatch Precision TAC trigger for this gun. Taylor Freelance makes extended magazine baseplates and a mag well. All of the accessories come in Walther blue, naturally.

Shooting Q5 is a pure joy. No idea why anyone compares it to a hammer-fired CZ shadow! These are not analogous mechanisms. You compare this one to CZ P10, HK VP9, and Glock.
@ronaldspencer5474 жыл бұрын
Beautiful looking gun. All those holes in the slide no doubt make it susceptible to dirt getting in the mechanism.

I wish there was more of a comparison angle. The video mentions the P320 X5, which is also striker fired, but what about Shadow 2 and 92X Performance? Or are they so different that this question makes no sense? I am leaving P210A out of this because of its low magazine capacity.
@benjamin32904 жыл бұрын
Pete Zaitcev I agree, would like to see all four put up against each other for comparison. I currently have an X5 but am considering swapping for a Q5 SF and want more info
@rickhunter65134 жыл бұрын
I’ve shot the CZ, Q5 SF and P320 Legion extensively and honestly, they are all amazing. The differences between them are minuscule. However, if I could only have one, it would be the CZ Shadow 2

I wonder whether anyone will undertake an aftermarket trigger for this. I know Walther produced a competition trigger but there was some problem with the importation/marketing due to it bypassing the drop safety and the consequent liability. In any case I'd like to see an aluminum trigger shoe option.

Well, a Walther Q5 Pro Match has been on my wish list, along with the CZ Shadow for some time now. A buddy of mine in USPSA owns a Q5 that I've shot. I had worried about the sharp beaver tail and bite but, evidently my hand placement won't bite into it. Good ole Uncle Sugar sent me some 'free' money, knowing I wanted to support the local gun shop and community. My new Pro Match will arrive this week. I fully expect to go from "D" class to Master Class in USPSA overnight with this new wonder :-) Thanks for another great review.

How is the muzzle flip compared to a glock 34? I’m looking for the flattest softest shooting striker fired 9mm. The glock and M&P’s shoot way flatter than the polymer frame Q5 to me. Was wondering if the steel frame made a big enough difference to make it flatter than those. Thanks!

If you were going to harness conceal carry under your armpit & size isn't so much a factor, which pistol or revolver would you choose?
@JustinOpinionChannel4 жыл бұрын
That's how I carried for years, back in the day. Then, it was a S&W Model 645 (about the same size and weight as a 1911). Length is still a consideration, especially for a horizontal rig, but you can get away with much more size. If you have a twin mag pouch on the opposite side for balance, the weight is really not a bother either.

Hi Justin. As always an interesting and professional review. Which gun would you recommend to a novice sports shooter but for a person who has a lot of experience with military weapons. Walther PDP 5" or Walther Q5 SF Champion? The price doesn't matter here. Unfortunately, I don't have the opportunity to shoot both of these pistols, so I have to buy one of them blindly. Thank you in advance for reply and greetings from Poland 🙂

End of this year im getting my first 9mm Pistol and the q5 polymer has been on my mind ever sinds I started shooting. Is it realy worth it getting the SF over the Polymer? Or is starting with a q5 Polymer just as good? In my mind it's the shooter thats gets results not the gun.
@SEAKPhotog3 жыл бұрын
@@Hazmat501 I actually don't think it's worth getting the SF for a first 9mm. I shoot my Polymer 5in M1 (very close in construction to the Q5) every bit as well as the SF. To me the SFs are a luxury. I ended up with one because I already had the polymer 5in M1, I know I like steel frames (I'm a CZ guy too), I think it's a damn sexy gun, I love Walthers, it's unique, I was able to pay for it with money I made from a photo assignment (a part time job I use to buy toys) and I'm retiring soon and want to splurge on a couple things before I go on a strict spending plan. Go for the polymer. Spend what you save on ammo and range fees.

How does this compare to a CZ Shadow 2? Which is the better gun?
@rickhunter65134 жыл бұрын
Neither is better, they are both phenomenal. Honestly, if you picked either one, you’d love it. Personally, I’d lean Shadow 2 just because I love the ergonomics and the single action is brilliant. However, I’ve shot the Q5 SF quite a bit and it’s incredible. It can also have a red dot mounted whereas the CZ cannot unless you send it out to get milled.
