PRR one's front trucks are not picking up power. But got that fixed. Runs great but will replace headlight with a LED.

There’s also some other missing details, like on the Real 1600, the front number boards and forward lights are on the nose which they aren’t on this model. Also notice this model has dynamic brakes when none of the real ONR GP9s have dynamic brakes.

They used these shells again on the last release of gp9 as well. They run better and have loksound..... but same detail issues. Thanks for watching

ya only a little disappointed. I hope it runs better after i work it in and add dcc

Your cat clock tail is in slow motion today! Once you break that thing in and add dcc it'll run like a charm. The loco, not the cat!

Have you ever tried any other DC only Locomotives using the Zephyr? Reason I ask is that all my DC locomotives lurch and squawk when I use my Digitrax Zephyr on 00. If I switch to a DC only power supply, they run like champs with no lurching and funny sounds. I'd bet that that loco will stop lurching and run smooth as silk at slow speeds using a DC only supply. Just a thought. YMMV.

Dominic Leone yup but I have not really seen that. Even with other walthers locos. Can’t recall if I pointed it out but it was fresh out of the box so it was not given the time to work in the gears. I’m sure with a few laps it might have sorted it out.

It reminds me of the Rapido LRC: Lots and LOTS of running before they started to break in . Nice video. Well done and yes Otter Valley has great price.

Great honest review Kris, once you install a decoder in it and work in the gears it should be a great runner. By the way love the new editing and new cut screen, also like the Felix the cat clock on the wall.

Nice review man. You covered everything. Some DC works great but I find out of the box they have to be run in a ton. So no worries I'm sure it'll run in great. For the price you can't beat it and it gives you another factory painted engine which is sweet, plus it doesn't look have bad (other than unprototypical stuff which you could always add later)

I agree... the more pics I look at of the real one the more sad this thing is lol. well maybe i can do some upgrades and fix a few things to it.

If anyone wants a good deal on one of these check the description for a like to Otter Valley. Best price!

Very nice. I am sure it will run much better with a decoder. Mainline is great for a basic loco. Scott

I think this loco is messed up for details no done properly , price is cheap , thanks for the review I have seen this one , now I know I don't want to by these Walther's Train Line loco's
@GoViaorgohome7 жыл бұрын
its odd... the walthers f40 is a really good loco no matter the paint scheme. I had high hopes for this one. guess i was wrong. Thank you for watching. -Kris

Go/Via/orgohome Your welcome Kris well you don't really know until you look at it closely to see the things wrong with and no DCC either .

Cant put LEDs in headlight. Walthers messed that up.

I'm not one as a huge stickler for detail, but it looks painfully horrible to someone who grew up beside the tracks seeing the trains daily. The colour looks nicer in the video than it does on the Walther's site (where it looks way too yellow), but most other things, I think it needs a fair bit of work to look passible. But, for someone who isn't picky.. may be a good pick. As I say, "Its your train set. Run what you want" As for the real ONR #1600 is no longer owned by Ontario Northland. It was sold to DESX two or three years ago, and now has a blue cab/front hood and black engine hood paint scheme.
