Great instructions! Thank you for including the Wing. I used to avoid that step because it always felt awkward. Thanks to reviewing this over and over, I now include the Wing when I dance the waltz! - Aloha, Derek

Hey Derek! I totally understand going OP on the left side is rare in Ballroom and is actually quite awkward if you don’t know what to do and also practice it a lot. Well done to your determination that will take you a long way!! Btw. The wing can be done in Quickstep and it’s lots of fun. I have a routine where it goes: Open Natural Outside Swivel Wing Closed Telemark Fishtail And it’s sick to dance to quickstep music

I got a question about "leaning" as example in the basic steps. I' ve heard you would have to drag your upper body behind yourself in the side close part an neutealise it before moving on. Thanks for an answer I Hope doi ceep doing so beautiful videos (we just broke down your Advanced Routine in our lesson)

So awesome you're working with these videos! Leaning I will take as the standard definition of Sway. You must step, swing your body, then sway. Sway [an inclination of the body to the inside of a turn] should happen as a result of good body swing combined with correct rise and fall through the feet, legs and body. Leaning by definition would mean you collapse a side which is called side-loading and often results in being off balance, poor posture and being dragged by your partner. The couples I teach we focus so much on the forward drive, creating elegant swing and not as much focus on sway because it's almost the last thing you develop and generally need to be a very advanced dancer. Perhaps go back to basics and feel your dance through good use of CBM and swing and see what happens. Let me know!

This leaning you mention would make your dancing look heavy. As stated here, you should learn not only over the course of time how to develop proper drive and swing *first* , but also the physical sway, as a movement in the action, *always* follows late and actually in the last part of closing action (or at the passing of the feet as in an Open Natural Turn, for example). Furthermore, leaning *backwards* during the the last part of the rising action is a pitfall sometimes seen as well. So, a proper Sway indeed only can exist by a proper swing and drive action and though the highlight of the Sway is always is somehow a very little increasing one side and decrease the the other, but you may *NEVER!!!!!!!!* drop the side at the inside of the turn (or the counterside of the swaying side). Or leaning backwards or forwards. Otherwise you'll end up look like a broken "banana" instead of the natural curved banana (with "banana" i refer to a expression used by Edita Gozzoli). So doing it the wrong way makes the sway artificial. And artificial sway is an *absolute* no-go and picked out immediately by judges, advanced dancers and experts in the field (hence mind the line figures with sway from a still position, such as the Lunge, in wich there is by nature allways a certain degree of artificial sway, but that is another chapter). We definitely want you end any swing action with *less* sway, but proper preparation *RATHER* than (either with, no or bad preparation), artificial sway as a result, or in this case, in the end. Ask Ballroom Mastery all of the above, and he'll confirm this. It's all about balance.

Wonderful! The music in Advance routine is also very nice (from minute 3:00) I love it. What is the song name? Please!

It's called "Appassionata". Imo quite well known for being used by the Hiltons in one of their last big demonstrations.
