Really nice presentation! It is really interesting how the Epigoni war, and the securing of Thebes as an Argive ally sets up the stage for the Achaean alliance of the Trojan War.

Yes. I wish we had more material to look at for this like we do with Trojan war, but between the epics being lost and Thebes being mostly undiggable, we don’t have much😢

You might enjoy my novels *The Diomedeia: Diomedes, the Peoples of the Sea, and the Fall of the Hittite Empire* and its sequel, *Diomedes in Kyprios*. Sorry for putting in this word, but I thought you might enjoy them. The final of the trilogy is in process: *Diomedes: Return to Mycenae*.

A shame that different from other stories about the house of Thebes (Cadmus,the birth of Dyonisius ,Pentheus,Oedipus,Seven Against Thebes) no complete version of the Epigoni saga survived. To think that Diomedes was present not only in the sack of Troy but also suceeded in Thebes is crazy.

And Diomedes was very young, probably only a teen at Thebes, thus he was still a teen when he became King of Argos (or Tiryns, as some would have it). He was barely 20, if that, at the Trojan war's beginning.

@WanaxTV you could make a great spinoff episode on the story of Thebans after they left Thebes led by Manto, Teiresias’ daughter. The royal house of Mopsos / Muksu is not mythological but really evidenced in Asia Minor.

One question! Did the majority of Hoplites had this crest hair above their helmet? Or just the higher ranks? What was the normal thing?
@DemetriosKongas11 ай бұрын
I think all of the hoplites had a crest on their helmets. The light infantry and the auxiliaries probably did not have it. Also, the cavalry men do not seem to have it. I think it was in the Roman army that only officers had the crest in the legion.
