I feel you were actually overestimating Will there. The guy was only using two spells, a low-level attack spell and a magic shield. If that wasn't a test, even with his sword, Will most likely wouldn't have survived. Still, he held his own against someone so close to Magia Vander, so very impressive nonetheless.

True, but I get the hate. Ed wanted to prove wand > sword, but didn't even let Will get the sword first, which lead him to be injured before he got the sword and went on to actually have a chance to fight. And Will would've won quicker (and probably unarmed) if he had the sword from the beginning

@@Anne-mn9fs The situations aren't good analogies: - Ed barely gave Will any time to think. He was like: "come with me... alright, this is a test, you will have to fight me and the only way I won't expel you is if you manage to hit me. go" and then proceeds to shoot Will. On a real test, the student's life isn't at risk, and he has more than enough time to request a pen. Most teachers would likely even tolerate an extra minute or two because of it. In Will's case he almost immediately started to take damage - Ed can see that Will doesn't have his weapon. Professors usually can't tell if a student is missing a pen or not until they tell them so. This is an important detail for what I was pointing out, which is that Ed wanted to prove wand > sword, knew Will didn't have a sword, and didn't tell him to pick it up (or gave him time to do so). If a teacher were to go call a student for a surprise and knew they didn't have a pen, I'm certain they would first tell them to get one (or give one to them) before actually putting them on a test.

Edward’s test was to prove that no matter what, a sword could never be on the same level as a wand. Thus the test was a battle of prowess between a Wand and sword.

@@nurusds3 sword in my statement isn’t literal. Throughout the story, Wand is a term for the wizards and Sword a term for Warriors (like Will). The test is to prove to Will that a sword(warrior) could never be equal to a wand(wizard).

So Elfie is actually insanely cracked. Last episode we learned that she's already a Magia Vander at age 15, but this episode we learned she became one at age 10!? That's absolutely insane considering the normal schooling takes until 15/16. Also, Edward got defeated after ascending the tower, is that a litttle hint that a 10 year old Elfie beat the shit out of him and that's why he's so grouchy? XD
