I love it when people say “I’m so confused” when they start watching a brand new series… Well of course you’re confused… It’s brand new, nobody knows what’s happening, until the ending… I.e. the last episode
@Logan_Baron
@Logan_Baron 3 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. You start watching a new series of some cops show and you're not really confused. You first start watching Friends or the Office for the first time and you're not confused. And while this show is supposed to be confusing, saying it out loud isn't any different than saying "I am so excited" or "I'm so sad" to which could also be replied with "Well of course you are. You're supposed to be".

Take another look and listen to Mrs. Hart during that scene. She's got a forced smile and a fake laugh, but her voice is terrified and she switches from saying it to Mr. Hart to saying it to Wanda. It's like she's locked in the 'comedy' mode of the premise, but somehow understands that something is very wrong at the same time and can't react to it. I think Debra Jo Rupp may have given the best performance of her life in that scene.

The scene where Mr. Hart was choking was super creepy. It took me a couple viewings to notice some things. First, Mrs. Hart said “stop it” initially to her husband, but then she was saying it to Wanda. She was smiling and laughing, but there were tears in her eyes. Also, Vision only helped after Wanda told him to. It reminded me of that famous Twilight Zone episode of the boy who’s wishes always came true.

I personally loved how committed it was to the style! It reminds me a lot of “Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared,” nailing the comical tone and filmmaking techniques of early-era tv to a tee while still being dark and foreboding with hints that things aren’t as nice as they seem. It also gave these actors such a great opportunity for the actors to flex their talent, especially Paul Bettany.

Hey, Kazzy! I'm really digging this show. It works as both a sitcom and a dark "Twilight Zone"/"Black Mirror" episode. The sitcom being parodied was "The Dick van Dyke Show". Dick van Dyke himself consulted on the set design and gags like tripping over the ottoman. He also played the ukelele like Bettany does to entertain his guests. Debra Jo Rupp played Kitty on "That '70's Show" which is a nice touch! She was begging Wanda through a forced smile to save Arthur! Wanda and all of Westview's inhabitants are seemingly trapped in a reality bubble of Wanda's making or made to trap Wanda. All colorization, MCU references, radio contact and disturbances that aren't sitcom hijinks are external attempts to breach the bubble. Some people are SWORD agents like Monica Rambeau aka Geraldine. Some, like Agnes, work for another party. It's Wanda's world and they're all living in it. SWORD is SHIELD's space division monitoring extraterrestrial threats. The acronym means Sentient World Observation and Response Department. The logo is on the journal and the monitor in the last image of the episode. The organization was introduced into the MCU during the end-credit scene of "Spider-Man: Far From Home". There was one instance of COLOR! The blinking red light on the Stark toaster! Kathryn Hahn's Agnes has GOT to be Agatha Harkness. Most commonly associated with the Fantastic Four and Doctor Strange, she is an ancient witch of tremendous power who saw Atlantis sink and was burned to death at Salem before her resurrection. In the comics, she makes Wanda forget her fictitious children ever existed. It's magical therapy that comes back to bite the entire world in the a** big time in "Avengers Disassembled" that leads to directly to the epic "House of M" event! The comic stories being adapted here are "The Vision and the Scarlet Witch" suburban domesticity series, "Visionquest" and "Darker Than Scarlet" from "West Coast Avengers", "Avengers Disassembled" from "Avengers" and "House of M". In "The Vision and the Scarlet Witch" series, the couple take a sabbatical from the Avengers and live as a suburban couple. In "Visionquest", Vizh is rebuilt emotionlessly which is traumatizing and she conjures up two fake kids who she's forced to forget. She snaps and goes full evil in "Darker Than Scarlet". Years later, in "Avengers Disassembled", she snaps again when she is reminded she once had two kids and kills half the Avengers including Vision, Hawkeye and Ant-Man! Doc Strange puts her down and Magneto comes for his daughter. In "House of M", he takes her to Genosha where Xavier tries to heal her pysche but, when the X-Men and Avengers come to check on Xavier's progress with the intent to kill her if need be, she transforms all of reality into a mutant utopia giving everyone their best life. The illusion cracks because Wolverine remembers the world that was and he awakens the heroes who assault Genosha where the House of M, headed by Magneto, rules the Earth. In despair that paradise was not enough, she utters three fateful words in a bid to be normal and end the pain: "No more mutants." Every mutant on Earth is depowered except for 198 individuals in an event named "Decimation" and she vanishes restoring all that was including making her imaginary boys, Wiccan and Speed, real! It's a state of affairs for mutants that lasts for years and was a major disruption in the Marvel Universe. I suspect rather than eliminating mutants, Wanda is going to create them or access a parallel reality where they exist. This will likely be the plot of the Doctor Strange movie which is the follow-up to this series. Absolutely check this out! KZbinr James Hancock does a fantastic and concise primer of Wanda and Vision's comic history in this video: youtu.be/watch?v=cGLers804kw

THANK GOD! I've been waiting for you to watch this. Alas, I know, superior editing takes time. The greater buildup I see happening here was revealed during the diner. The show starts in the late 50's with that level of production, leaking a tiny bit of full production in the choking scene, then back to the 50's. Each episode will raise the bar until we're taken to a new level of "TV" production with movie level work and budget. It's like the MCU is saying TV started here and we're taking it to a whole new level. Twenty five MILLION an episode. JEEEEE us... We are going to see some serious sh!t. Nice touch going back to show the dark humor in the "plate" joke and then, of course, the plate is taken back in time a put together again. That was a gut shot.

Wanda is manipulating reality in her own world.....hence why she allowed mr hart to choke on the breakfast.....Mrs hart if u notice is looking at her husband saying stop it.....but then turns to wanda and tells her to stop it...she laughing but has a pained look on her face at the same time which seems as wanda was behind it. They were asking too many questions and the questions represent the real world. Wanda doesn't want the real world im my opinion

Kazzy, be a lamb and up the volume for the video you are reacting to. Your voice and laughter is very loud compared to the volume of the show, so I don't know what you are reacting to and therefore I can't feel your joy.

Unfortunately the videos get blocked when the volume is normal, hence the subtitles :/

@@jdolan74 This makes no sense. Other reaction people don't have the same problem. A video doesn't simply walk into censorship. The fair use guidelines doesn't care about volume. Unless they do and I don't know about it.

@@solarplexus9782 every time I do an upload with balanced sound it gets blocked. I was also advised by the Reel Rejects to lower the show's sound. The subtitles help the follow along. Tricky business this reaction vidding.

@@jdolan74 But can you see how this is evil? KZbin actively censors empathy. It can't possibly get more demonic than this.

@@solarplexus9782 I know. I'm working on all of this. I'm hoping we can come to a solution, as other reactors are not having issues so I don't know why I am. Please know, that I am actively working on this the best I can 😊✌🏼💛
