Looks like the furniture will be changing with each episode as they go through the different sitcom eras. Episode one had a “I Love Lucy” and “ The Dick Van Dyke Show” vibe. While the second episode has a more “Bewitched” look. Really looking forward to Friday’s episode.

The first episode was in the 50s, the second episode was in the 60s (as evidenced by the 1960s-era vintage cars), and the third episode looks like it will be in the 70s.

Apparently, the 50s era was mainly inspired by I Love Lucy, while this one by The Dick Van Dyke Show. Wonder which shows will influence the next episodes. Also, there's 7 more episodes (the finale should be 5 March), but only 5 decades, so it'll be interesting to see if they'll break away from this concept and when.

@ One slight correction is the first episode was inspired by both I Love Lucy and The Dick Van Dyke Show while this one was mostly inspired by Bewitched. That's also why the living rooms look different. First ep was Dick Van Dyke's living room and the second was the Bewitched living room, including that staircase in the middle of the room. It also shows the changing of the times at the end of the ep when it changed to color because Bewitched did that during its run where the first couple (or few) seasons were in black & white and then it changed to Technicolor, which is what the vibrant colors at the end looked a lot like. I believe they used cameras of the era also to get the same aesthetic.

There's absolutely comedy, but so far my thought is that it's horror disguised as a comedy. The tributes to the sit-coms through the decades are absolutely on point, but underneath it's very Twilight Zone. I am so impatient for more.

I love how the first episode was in the 50s, this one is in the 60s. Also Bewitched inspired. I love how you insert different clips. When Vision was doing the card trick...I thought of Chris Pratt's card trick. Hilarious. Also, the inclusion of Twilight Zone elements near the end. The outside world bleeding through. Also, I'm loving this.

Hey, Kazzy! As you noted, the sitcom being parodied was "Bewitched" and they even ape the animated intro! It was a black-and-white sitcom that was colorized partway through its run which is what happens in this transitional episode. Standards and Practices forbade a wedded couple from being depicted sharing the same bed. It was considered scandalous! Lucille Ball bucked the trend on "I Love Lucy" by pushing two double beds together but a single bed scenario wasn't shown until "The Brady Bunch"! Wanda and all of Westview's inhabitants are seemingly trapped in a reality bubble of Wanda's making or made to trap Wanda. All colorization, MCU references, radio contact and disturbances that aren't sitcom hijinks are external attempts to breach the bubble. Some people are SWORD agents like Monica Rambeau aka Geraldine. Some, like Agnes, work for another party. It's Wanda's world and they're all living in it. Notice the Mind Stone on the Cabinet of Mysteries. Notice the Baron Strucker watch with the Hydra logo.. I think the SWORD helicopter was trying to penetrate or disable the psychic bubble with ordnance which accounts for the loud THUMPS. Those were probably explosions or shockwaves. The bubble is an extension of Wanda so it retaliated by absorbing the chopper and rendering it harmless as a toy! I wonder what Agnes means that Dottie is the key to everything? Is it more than the social hierarchy of Westview? Why is her blood in color? Notice the purpose of the garden party and talent show is "FOR THE CHLDREN" and Wanda ends the episode pregnant with her twins! That David Schwimmer schlub look-a-like kills me! I loved drunk Vision! Elizabeth Olsen made a very fetching assistant. The beekeeper had a SWORD logo on his suit. The ORIGINAL Captain Marvel was a Kree soldier called Mar-Vell. Carol Danvers was his human ally before gaining powers herself. He famously died from a cancer that no science of Mr. Fantastic or magic of Doctor Strange could cure. His death has never been reversed and, like Uncle Ben, he's one of Marvel's sacred cows. So respected a figure was Mar-Vell that his nemesis Thanos, who happened to be dead at the time of Mar-Vell's passing, returned in spirit to escort the soul of his honored opponent into the beyond. Monica Rambeau was a New Orleans harbor cop who acquired her electromagnetic powers in an accident. She never knew Mar-Vell and adopted the Captain Marvel name without understanding its significance. She's a cool character who can travel at light speed and who led the Avengers in the '80's. She finally decided to change her name out of respect for Mar-Vell's legacy and has gone by different monikers including Photon. Nowadays, she's known as Spectrum. I like that name for her best.

The living room changed because the layout of the house changes with each episode. The first (1950's) episode the house was a single level ranch style with a step down into the living room. The second (1960's) house is two levels with a flat living room and stairs leading upstairs. You will also notice that, like many exterior/interior discrepancies common in tv sit-coms, the front door is in the middle of the house in both episodes, but inside there is a wall directly behind the door with an exterior window on it where other rooms of the house should be. Episode 3 should take place in a 1970's era sitcom house, much like the Brady Bunch, so expect the house to change again.

It has been pointed out in other recap videos that the wall directly alongside the door to the kitchen is decorated with the Hydra fortress in Sokovia seen in Age of Ultron. It is particularly visible as the color change occurs on that wall.

The beekeeper is a villain from outside (the real world) of Wanda's "reality" that she sees as a threat to the world and life she created (potentially from A.I.M. or SWORD or something like that). The inflection and emotion/fear in her voice when she said "No." suggests she may who who it is and/or why they're there. When she reminds time and asks Vision the second time "Is this really happening?" doesn't have the same romantic/exciting inflection. It more fearful and says that she is questioning whether this "reality" itself is real. This is also alluded to in the first episode by way of the company Vision works for having no real purpose and his job not really having a point or explanation as for what he does. Also, Wanda not knowing where they moved from, when their anniversary is maybe there is a heart on the calendar sprt of hunt that her "reality" isn't real. All of these smaller things are probably going to eventually lead her to realize that her world isn't real. Also when Mrs. Heart (Debra Jo Rupp) repeatedly says (whilst smiling) "Stop it" suggests that Wanda doesn't quite have control over her reality I originally thought the voice on the radio was Hawkeye (as Wanda and Clint are close both in the films and in the comics. Unfortunately, though, Wanda lost control and killed Clint just before the House of M (Doctor Strange played a significant role in this event, by the way) comic event and subsequently resurrected him during the events of House of M after she lost control and broke reality. Clint was understandably upset to learn what had happened). However, upon hearing the voice again (and with some help from the internet) it is most likely Jimmy Woo (the detective from Antman and the Wasp played by Randall Park) and that he was also the one watching "WandaVision" in the control room (or whatever that room is). It's worth noting that Woo had several agency affiliations such as S.H.I.E.L.D., Agents of Atlas, Protectors, etc. The fact that he was able to kind of get through to her via the radio "Who is doing this to you?" suggests that her "reality" isn't stable. and may no longer be under her control. WandaVision is set to lead in to Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness (Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Wanda has been announced as part of the cast of Doctor Strange and tje Multiverse of Madness). This leads me to believe that Wanda, at the end of WandaVision, is going to lose control completely and break reality (Something that will require Stephen Strange's expertise in the Mystic Arts to rectify) and the result and ensuing choose or whatever will be the plot of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

I missed the SWORD logo on the beekeeper's back. He's an agent of SWORD and Wanda knows who SWORD are amd what they do. This means she knows they see her as a threat.

Got to remember Vision died Twice. First Wanda killed him destroying the Mind Stone. Of which, Thanos used the Time Stone to reverse it. Then Thanos ripped the Mind Stone out of Vision's head killing him a 2nd time. And then after the Snap; Wanda crying over his corpse is dusted. Talk about heartbreaking for when she returned after the Blip she would have that fresh memory over where he had died.

Episode one recreated the Dick Van Dyke Show set. Episode 2 recreated the Bewitched set. That's why the furniture changed. Wasn't the toy helicopter in Vision's colors? Someone pointed out that the first time Vision says "Flourish!" he does Dr. Strange's hand gestures. I don't know if that is accurate, but I can see them using that. I don't read the comics, but apparently there are a ton of references throughout this, including the names Illusion and Glamour. I'm trying to place the radio voice. I don't know if it is a new character or someone from the films.

They were going to remove the Mind Stone and keep Vision somehow. As Dr. Banner said, even without the stone there is still parts of Vision left - maybe the best parts: Jarvis, Ultron, Tony, me [Banner]. Now I wonder if parts of Vision imprinted themselves on Wanda before he was completely destroyed. So, if she is delusional - it’s possible she isn’t alone. Vision is in there somewhere and I find that somewhat comforting. 😊

SWORD is a subsection of SHIELD. So I assume they are keeping an eye on this pocket universe (most likely) Wanda created. But someone is messing up with it, maybe even Wanda herself. Therefore the message on the radio. Ah, I love riddles. ^^ Did you notice, the show all was "For the children", but there isn't even one child around? So is IT for Wanda's unborn children?

Hmmm......Wanda does seem to have some control over what's happening, but probably her memory's been affected somewhat, because her and Vis have no cover story and they seem to be making it up as they go. Can't wait to see where this all goes, Im really intrigued. In terms of production, they actually got a live studio audience to do the first episode in front of, and everyone came dressed in period clothing, includiong the crew, I think. Also they got Dick Van Dyke himself, to consult on the look of the show, and it definitely looks authentic to the periods of the 50's (ist ep) and the early 60's (2nd episode), so I guess 3rd episode is going to go to colorized tv in the time period of late 60's early 70's so we're def about to see some Brady Bunch/Partridge Family style antics, so reportedly every episode moves through the decades of television, which makes sense and all the sets have some sort of familiarity and it changes so often.

Bewitched was originally Black and White, but went to color in '66.

Actually almost every tv show in the 60s was b&w for at least the pilot episode and usually for the first year. The studios did this to see if it would be a hit or tank. If ratings were promising, then they would spend the xtra money to shoot subsequent seasons using color film which was considerably more expensive than b&w film.

@@Indrid-Cold Well now I'm thinking this is something I do NEED to react to. Wow. You worked for the Dept of Defense?! Sci-Fi is my favorite genre, just fyi. On another note, I prefer not to do any research into a show before I watch it. To me, there is no point. I want to go into everything I watch with as little information as possible. I want to be blind, so I can have all of the excitement I can possibly experience from watching something I know nothing about. I'm aware that this can sometimes come across to viewers as me not caring enough to inform myself of the material ahead of time and/or that I'm just simply an idiot 😂. Neither is true 😁 (although, maybe I'm an idiot sometimes). However, that is the risk I take by not informing myself of the content ahead of time. This is the way I like to do it though. I like to figure things out as I go along. Sometimes I don't figure it out at all. Sometimes I do. Either way, I prefer to not spoil anything for myself....otherwise, it's not as fun for me. And I want to have fun. I want to enjoy the ride. Is this a German show? Are there subtitles?

Why is the living room different now? Well, for one thing the world around her is changing along with her whims. But on a more meta level, that was a fairly common phenomenon on those old classic sitcoms. The sets would sometimes just change without comment (presumably for some practical BTS reason) and nobody gave it much thought. I mean, sitcoms were just kinda filmed stage-plays after all. Nobody complains if they see a play and somebody sets the stage up a little bit different than last time.

OMG, you're absolutely right! Agatha Harkness is the mother of Nicholas Scratch, and in this episode Agnes's rabbit is named Señor Scratchy. Between that, her connection to Wanda, and the name similarity, there's no way that's all coincidences. Well spotted!

Sure I liked it a lot , some people don't but I suspect they are not familiar with old TV shows or the comics or they are used to marvel being more action based but they also complain that marvel is formulaic and should do something different and this is different.

It seems like Wanda moves them to a different mini-universe whenever something weird happens, that's why the furniture changes (and now changing from BW to colour). It's funny that at the end of each episode you get the typical happy ending, even though something odd just happened (Vision gets a promotion after his boss nearly chokes, V & W win the talent show despite various weirdness). I can't tell whether it's just because they're in TV show universes where that always happens no matter what, or because the people become scared of Wanda and Vision. Have you seen the trailers? I think they answer some questions. Do you know the real name of the black lady who calls herself Geraldine (I mean real name in the MCU, not in real life)?

okay so this is oviously not reality, my headcanon currently is ... POSSIBLE SPOILER so read if you want ... that Wanda put herself under an illusion, maybe even subconsciously, to cope with Vision's death :( all the colors she's seen were red and yellow, Vision's colors all of it may be happening starting from the 50's because Wanda probably feels they got very little time together, so now she imagines a lifetime with him ...

Since Vision is unquestionably dead, that all of this takes place because of Wanda is rather obvious. None of this is real, the question is is she doing this herself and messing with reality in the process or has she been incarcerated because of her powers she doesn't have control of when emotional. There are any number of members in play here. Dr. Strange looking for her because she's thrown herself into delusion, coping with Visions death. Hydra or SHIELD keeping her in a state where she can't be around doing stuff in her mental state of grief. Uncontrolled and nobody really being sure exactly how powerful she is. The intentionally bad comedy is already wearing thin with me personally. The rubber needs to hit the road with ep. 3 because the whole nostalgia vibe and cgi candy isn't adequate substitute for dialogue and plot. Just me.

Vision is dead. It's just a projection so the projection don't know what Vision can actually do.

But Vision is already doing things by himself, Wanda's not present at his job, or at the Neighborhood watch meeting. That makes Vision in this TV show, imaginary. Imaginary people only do what they are thought programmed to do. Vision is not autonomous because he is not real. Otherwise he would have been able to tell Wanda about the heart on the calendar.
