Ahoy shipmates! We be headin’ home with a bounty of gold! But what’s that? The captain’s ghost be hauntin’ the crew and wants his treasure back! Can ye last long enough to make it to shore? Or will ye be throwin’ treasure overboard as a ghost?
Paper Pirates is a social deduction game for 1 to 10 players, so bring along your best crew, see who you can trust, and who’ll be going overboard! Everyone connects to the game with an internet-enabled device, so everyone can play! And once you’ve got your crew together you can set sail on your adventure!
Sailing on Stream?
Crew all stranded ashore? We recommend playing Paper Pirates on your favourite streaming service to play with remote players! Don’t worry if you’re not in the same room; you can use the built-in chat feature. And with audience mode, if you’re streaming for the masses, everyone can jump in and affect how the game plays out!
Who can you trust?!
Every round, the captain will give out orders for their crew. Everyone doing their job gets us closer to shore, but watch out for when something goes wrong; a ghost must be about! And if things are going too well, then what’s to stop the captain being a ghost?
Get Off My Ship!
At the end of each round, you’ll vote for somebody to walk the plank. You want to purge the ghosts, but be careful... every innocent pirate overboard comes back to haunt someone anew!
I’m the Captain Now
When someone goes overboard you could be up for a promotion. The higher your rank, the more likely you are to get haunted and become a target. If you end up as captain, you’ll be the one choosing who gets to take part in each day’s task. Make sure you know who you can trust to get you home!
Packed with Events
Are things going too well? Oops, we’ve hit rocks; a whirlpool has caught us; cue spooky ghostly apparitions! Are we nearly all out of treasure and all hope is lost? Help could come from a message in a bottle; a spy in the crows nest; an exorcism at sea!Paper Pirates is filled with events to make every journey different!

Seems like it is just like avalon or the resistance. Basically every turn 1 guy picks the people who do a mission, when doing the mission you basically say "I want this to succeed" or "I want this to fail" if anyone say it fails the mission fail. (This means the good guys always say I want to succeed) if the mission fails treasure is lost, the bad guys want to lose the gold so they will mostly say "fail" the deduction game is now trying to figure out who is the bad guys based on who is on a mission when it fails, but this can be made harder by bad guys choosing to not fail a mission. This game also got some extra stuff like minigames that helps the good guys figure out who the bad guy is.

Wander if this isn’t all prerecorded next time you play this could you also record what’s going on on your device? This isn’t great to watch because we can’t actually see what’s going on.

I could, but then you all would know what I'm playing as. And that's way less fun. Plus on a logistical level it would be super rough. Showing my device live would mean that my live audience would know my role, and could easily out me whenever I'm a ghost.

Hey! Since this was recorded, we've fixed a bug that sadly meant in this particular game the first day wasn't shown. Normally the game looks more like it does from about 07:00 onwards, where it's hopefully a little bit easier to see what's going on :)

Can barely understand this, even having seen it on stream on again here, so if the captain is a ghost and one of the crew are also a ghost... do they essentially fight with each other not knowing they are on the same side?

Wanted to like it but i dont particularly like the role changing aspect, compared to stuff like secret hitler or even among us & PW. Overall though, its just hard to watch. I dunno what the developers thinking is for putting half of the game mechanics outside the game. Who does it benefit? A group of friends? nope, who are they hiding it from? Streamers? They hide info all the time, like the password to get into the game. I dunno who it benefits, but it wouldnt surprise me if the answer ended up being more beneficial to the developers than any group of players. Also thought it was LawLash who was ghost, on the scales round, he chose to go in last at 3v2 and he made it 4v2. It made no sense if the intention is to eliminate people, its the action of someone wanting more ppl to hide amongst.

I agree with some of what you said except for the password part. Some people or groups of friends want a private game with just them, to chat, or to not deal with strangers. Wander said in the comments he didn't want to show his gameplay because he live streams and didn't want chat to give him away. I agree it makes this uninteresting to watch for me. It's like those text and typing games. I like the hats in this game.
