It's weird that for such a blockbuster area, they just built what is effectively a Goofy's Barnstorm/Gadget Coaster, just with excellent theming. IMO this really should have been more like the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train; a lot longer, with the odd dark ride section thrown in too.

They have two great coasters with Space Mountain and Grizzly Gulch. It's really sad they couldn't have 3 solid ones and this feels like a kiddie coaster instead.

Whoever filmed this, great job. The panning of the camera and gymbol was very smooth and fluid. Loved seeing the detailing of the ride was very surprised and disappointed that the ride itself was very short.

agreed on both points. Tom did a great job filming, but it's kind of a bummer the ride is less than 60 seconds long. That being said, what beautiful views. Really well done from a "vista" point of view.

Thanks for sharing. Theming is definitely on point, but I must say I’m a bit surprised at short ride time. I guess this is a kid coaster so it will probably work out for beginners but hopefully wait time is short.

I had grown adults screaming on one of the rides I went on. What is considered thrilling for most guests is very different in Asia, but yeah, I would consider it an Uber-themed Barnstormer basically

A beautiful queue, beautiful cars, beautiful theming of the roller coaster, but they missed the mark on delivering a truly enjoyable experience with such a short ride. And not to give the guests a more “tied-in” Frozen theming while rolling through the hills on a sled…such a shame. So many elements they could’ve used to create a fantastic experience for the launch of a completely new themed land.

One thing I love about HKDL is it's always empty so wait times are really short. I remember in 2015 just riding Mystic Manor and the new Bear coaster over and over again!

One reason for low crowds is because it’s in a communist country, whose government doesn’t allow its citizens to freely travel. Probably tied in to their ‘social score’, to where if you don’t think/act/post ‘correctly’ according to the government, then you’re not allowed to do a lot of things…like go to HKDL.

How beautiful! I love how they incorporate the “old fashioned” like decor you see at Fantasy Land in DIsneyland and new technology we have today. All the small details they put in is amazing. Also, what a beautiful day, the sun is shining and the sky so blue. It must have been a magical experience!

The ride seems very brief. Even though the ride was a walk-on, you would spend more time walking in the queue going in and out than the time you have on the ride.

I was really hoping for a more immersive inside section in the middle like in 7 dwarfs where it feels super magical. This is really sad and ride was too short like go gadget coaster. The ending of the ride also is sad with no characters to physically greet you. Hong Kong Disney gets the short end of the stick again.

Wait that's it!? That's worse that the Tron ride as far as length and Tron is a super short ride at just under a minute from take off to "finish", and for this ride more than half of that time is climbing the hill. Seriously 25 seconds from top of the hill to seeing the "Welcome back" signs, it's basically Gadget's Go Coaster at Toontown.

I agree, but I think the reason it was made shorter is cause the demographic there aren't really into thrill rides. I was watching a video where a person went to the parks recently and said there are shorter wait times for thrill rides vs less exciting rides with longer ques. So they might be catering to the Hong Kong audience.

I am not sure how others feel here, but I am really not a fan of all these Disney Coasters that are over faster than literally sitting down and leaving the station. So many rides are getting shorter and shorter at Disney. If I want a good coaster, I go to an amusement park and get my thrills on. If I want an amazing audio, visual, story experience, I go to a Theme Park and go on highly detailed dark rides. I am cool with dark rides having a little thrill like Pirates or Splash, but I am not ok with a 30 second mild thrill ride with some theming. It is just not a reason to go to Disney when the same sort of family friendly ride is at your local park. It looks like perhaps others feel the same way based on how many people were on this ride. Hopefully the other rides in this new HKDL expansion are more ambitious and worthy of making the trip.

So I timed this approx 49 seconds, and 21 seconds of that is just the slow climb to the actual start. So actual “thrill part” is less than 30 seconds. most elaborate barnstormer EVER! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Short but sweet! I don't mind that the ride is over so quickly; it's so gorgeous! The queue has so much detail, and is so cozy. Even the switchback section at the ride load platform actually has nice walls, instead of metal railings! Now I'm even more disappointed that this ride isn't coming to DisneySea or Paris.

It’s not purely that the ride is short: it punches so far above its weight in terms of theming that it borders on deceptive. People are going to get in line expecting more ride. With Barnstormer, it’s very clear what you are getting.

The line is genuinely more interesting than the ride itself. The highlight of the ride was the brief glimpse of the new Frozen Land. This would only be worth riding as a walk on.

They have Grizzly Mountain Railroad and the absolute best version of Hyperspace Mountain. Two of the best Rollercoasters in Hong Kong. They needed a kiddie coaster to compliment those two. But yeah it could have been better.

It’s crazy what brainwashed Disney fans will accept. This attraction screams budget cuts to me. In what world would they begin design on a new land with 2 attractions and make one of them a family rollercoaster with one block zone and no thematic elements or animatronics apart from the queue? It feels weak. It’s not a kids rollercoaster, it’s a main attraction. It feels like that’s the first half, or less of the ride.

The original concept for this ride was a trackless sleigh ride like Luigi’s Rollicking Roadsters. Plus Hong Kong Disneyland doesn’t have the space to build a longer coaster. I would rather have this than the trackless sleigh ride that dances to music.

great job filming, but it's so short that it seems drastically underwhelming... right around a minute ride length? It took you longer to walk the empty queue. I don't get it... It doesn't feel worth it to me. Sadly when it comes to this land, I'm just not impressed over all from what I've seen. I'll wait til Fantasy Springs in Tokyo opens, or check out what they come up with in Paris. Mystic Manor feels like the only attraction worth going to here and one ride isn't nearly enough to risk a trip to that country.

Shockingly short wonderful theme I don’t understand such a small coaster such a small capacity. This is a Disney park this ride can’t handle those types of crowds not enough riders per hour why was this underbuilt? Disney keeps doing this seven dwarfs, mine train slinky dog dash. crushes coaster in Paris. The Indiana Jones coaster in Paris and the ones in Tokyo. Well, the theme is good the capacity issues of these rides should have dictated more capacity. Disney knows the crowds they receive it underbuilt this coaster yet again crippling it’s capacity The lines for this coaster will always be horrible and yet they did it. Because there’s just not enough seats to move enough people through it I’d be surprised if the capacity is greater than 1000 guests per hour nearly making it impossible for all the guests in the park each day to ride it

Ok I’m always rooting for Disney Imagineering cause they really do amazing things but I do feel they may have dropped the ball on this one… I’m struggling a bit to make sense of how sleighs can traverse a landscape consisting of a lack of snow across it and apparently “wood planked” paths the majority of the ride along a rocky hillside… But I do give credit to the craftsmanship it took to design the layout as it is very pleasing to the mind when taking in the atmosphere of the land. Just wish they would have brought some logic into the concept of it all. They’ve adopted the mine cart concept and just put sleds on it instead of carts.
