Wandering the streets of old Kyoto

Welcome back to Tim in Japan! In this decidedly chill episode we head straight into the heart of old Kyoto - Higashiyama. I vlog the streets, take in the sights, go shopping (including the Ghibli store!), and eat some delicious food along the way. It was an amazing experience to take in all of the ambience of traditional Kyoto - like being transported back in time.

After perusing the shops and streets, we check in to our hotel for the evening - The Park Hyatt Kyoto. An immaculately beautiful property that blends together traditional Japanese architecture and aesthetics with all of the modern furnishings and upgrades. Everything harmonizes together in a truly unforgettable experience at the Park Hyatt Kyoto.
We then head out to dinner - amazingly high quality yakiniku barbecue at Yakiniku Kinoe. It was my first chance to try Matsusaka beef and it did not disappoint in the slightest!
And we wind down the evening by taking a quick walk through downtown Kyoto and grabbing some dessert at the seven eleven convenience store. (Can't forget conbini dessert!)
We arrive back at the Park Hyatt well after the sun has set and are greeted by some majestic, romantic views of Higashiyama at night. We head back up to the rooftop garden area to enjoy our desserts.
Winding things down, I order some free amenities from the hotel and we enjoy a special treat provided by the staff for our anniversary.
