Johnny Pow here - it has been 4 months since my crash happened the weekend Ang made this video. He (and I) were wondering at the time what the future would hold and how into riding motorcycles I would be going forward. Well, I do not plan to slow down or change at this time! I did not get a GoldWing, but I just bought a new larger displacement bike which might be suitable for some touring in the months and years ahead.

30+ year harley guy here. Bought a brand new goldwing in 2022 because I was going on a ride that I didn't want to ride my Harley on. Now I want a sticker for the back that says "I can't believe I wasted the last 30 years on a Harley". Still own my harley but there is no comparison to a Goldwing.

Ha! Man - I'm kind of glad to hear this. My first choice was a Harley Ultra-Glide. I rented one for a 2,500 mile trip in canada and loved it. But I talked to a few mechanics and they were all like, "Goldwing".

Hey Ang, Your Tennessee neighbor here. Been on all the roads you covered in this video, well mostly. I have had a 2012 Vstrom DL 650ABS for going on 9 years. I noticed all kinds of ghost noises when I first started riding it. Actually a couple of them got into my head big time. As time and milage went by, I learned the ghost were characteristic of a Suzuki 90 degree engine and transmission. 17,000 miles later the ghost are still there. Go figure. Our minds do mess with us don't they..
@SomeGuyRides3 ай бұрын
No doubt. I was hearing things on the TAT with the little Honda that totally got in myhead. I'm sure it's all nothing! I wish I could find a Goldwing mechanic - just to pay them to take it on a ride to see what they thought. That would ease my mind...
@josephbowers33813 ай бұрын
Hey Ang, I just bought a 2021 Kawsaki Versys x300. I'm trying my best to ignore the ghost. Is it working? Not really🥴

Never would've thought I'd click through to a Gold Wing video -- yeah, I've rode them, they're amazing, but I'm more off road than on. Still, such humorous narration regarding life's realities at our age consistently entertains. I'm confident I'll watch to the end. Cheers Ang.

Love the wing! I went to a launch party for the redesign they did back in 2018 at the dealership in Knoxville. I'm your age, and I was the youngest guy there. We are in that demo now, lol. They had an 80's music trivia contest, and it was totally lost on this crowd. I came close to buying the 2018. It was by far superior to everything out there for touring except for maybe the BMW K1600. I was influenced by a YT video of 2 guys touring on a Harley and and Indian, when one of them said, "there is something cool about riding across American on an American motorcycle." And the coolness factor won out over the technical superiority. On motorcycle stereos, I went from a sport bike, to a lower end cruiser with no wind protection, to a big bagger with a faring and nice sound system. Leading up to bringing it home and my first couple of rides, I had still intended to use the bluetooth in my helmet for tunes. I thought bikes jamming out were annoying and ridiculous, and that it couldn't sound that good at speed. That opinion changed quickly. I still turn it down or pause at stops; otherwise, I'm jamming! Moral of this story, don't knock it until you try it.

I do too - I'm a little paranoid about it. But it is great fun when there's no one around!

Dude, your GWing is meant to ride the BRP. I have enjoyed all 470ish miles from Va to Cherokee! I know you’ve been all over the place, but the best playground is in your backyard. Your bike will sing to you the entire way I know this cause I’ve had a gold wing for 20 odd years and the parkway, and my Goldwing love eachother. Glad you got a Goldwing ! Im learning to enjoy my KLR. Mark

We rode from LIttle Switzerland to Asheville on the BRP the other day and I did from the house past Pisgah Inn to 215. That section between the Inn and 215 is amazing. But you're right - I need to do the whole thing. I just aborted a Natchez Trace ride because of the weather - but want to do that as well. Probably 3 day to take your time?

I seen JPs channel when he crashed. Hope he’s doin well. I and the Harley Honda himi dude. I may just say HHH in the future. I crashed a trials bike years ago and tore up my body pretty good. Sold all my bikes and gear except the Harley dresser. Now I’m buying all that stuff back. A guy told me after he got T boned on his bike if you crash a car do you stop driving…. He has a point. Good bad or indifferent I can’t get away from bikes. Been riding over 50 years and still suck but I love it. Thanks for the work you put in. I enjoy your videos.

Hi Ang, great video and good to see you enjoying your wing. I've had goldwings for years and bought a ct125 , not easy to get here in England, after watching you on the TAT. My wife & I have had many holidays on the wings and now I'm doing trips on the hunter cub. Going over to France on it in September. Those roads look very enjoyable. Looking forward to more.

People say that the BMWs are more comfortable, but if you throw some highway pegs on that puppy and you learn how to relax. Maybe eventually you’ll step up to the plate with a big boys and throw a trailer hitch on that thing and drag a nice size trailer. I’d like to call it the (Wife) suitcase.
@SomeGuyRides4 ай бұрын
It's got a hitch - I thought seriously about trying to figure out how to tow the CT125 on it...
@dcijams4 ай бұрын
Maximum weight of towing is about 40% of the total weight of your bike. When I first decided the tow trailer, the guy that told me about it said you’re no longer riding the motorcycle you have to think like a tractor-trailer driver. Let the bikes engine takeoff from the starts and slow down way in advance. And always remember when you pull up to a fuel pump, you need to swing wide to make sure your trailer makes it past the island .
@dcijams3 ай бұрын
@@SomeGuyRides if you get a harbor freight trailer. You’re going to need to extend the tongue about 2 feet. It’s found to create a dog wag if the hitch isn’t long enough.

HHH here. again. ive heard the most issue people have with the gold wing is its so quiet the tire noise bothers people lol. i dont ha e that prob too much on my stock harley. i bought it in 14 and still have it. i might have to try the gold wing some day. i know its bad ass from what a couple friends have told me.

Hi. About being bored watching you ride a goldwing... Personally I could not care less if you rode a tricycle. I tune in for what you have to say about anything and everything. Your out-of-the-box thinking is what I like. I just happen to land on your channel some time ago because I ride too.

I'm sure you've found out by now that if you ride a 900 lb lump like a sportbike in the mountains, the mileage will be lower than if you cruise on the highway.😁 But 36 mpg is not all that bad for a Wing.

The engine noises that thing makes are pretty cool. Why can’t an Accord sound like that? 😂
