I have learned Morse code twice. I will tell you why the second time I learned it was better and more interesting and how you can learn Morse code more effectively!

I liked that you used this memory method. Reminds me of the Pimsleur Method of language learning involving spaced repetition. ;D The focus is on making a direct response and building up length and increasing the interval. Usually the first thing learned in the first lesson is to respond with the word for "excuse me". Having to learn code in the Boy Scouts long ago, I can see now why I never really learned it then.

Awesome to see y'all. Y'all were our inspiration for our bus and we are still working on it. Takes a lot of time and money. Thank y'all for your videos!!!

I spent 10 years at sea in the merchant marine as a radio officer. When I first started college there were guys there who'd started 'learning' morse at home before college started. They'd used all the 'learn morse in 10 minutes' nonsense. When we actually started to learn it at college they were at a real disadvantage as they had to unlearn all the dots and dashes and relearn the sounds. What you say about practice is right too. An hour a day 5 days a week for 2 years 🙄

Hey, it looks like you are in a house. You mentioned somewhere else that you weren't in the Bus at this time. Do you still have it? Was it hard to find a place to park it? I'm always struggling to find a place to park my RV in the city.

We are still in the bus. I refer to it as our "house" but I still transmit mobile😁 We will be moving it this winter to a place not too far from where we are now in Sonoita. In fact, the property is large enough for you to come visit!

@@AMERICANRTO That sounds awesome. I plan to be down there in October. Looking forward to it.

We may or may not be there yet. I'll keep you posted. You still playing on the DMR channel?

@@AMERICANRTO I haven't been on DMR in quite a while but I have the equipment right here on the desk. The conference channel we used to talk on may be gone so we will have to pick another one.
