I really like how the leader (?) talked about watching out for someone who slows down and slow down with them. In another lifetime, we went on a much smaller caravan through some mountains and nobody cared what anyone else was doing, if they needed help, etc. You have a great group of friends here, Sarah.

It’s always fun watching your adventures with Little One. This brought back fond memories of a nearly 40 mile long 9hour loop if I recall, with my wife and dog over both Imogene and Ophir passes way back in the late 1980’s. It started to drizzle on the way back down and turned out to be quite a white knuckle day. Honestly, I remember kissing the ground when we got back to Ouray, Co.

Most excellent video! Looks like it got a bit gnarly up higher by the mines as you neared CK. That's why the route up from Lake Pleasant is such a classic. For me, I have gone to CK via the easy route from Bumble Bee like you did or on the Senator Highway south out of Prescott. Many of those roads have suffered from post fire washouts, etc. in recent decades (adds to the adventure 😮😉). Often wondered what the run was like. Thank you! 👍

I wonder how many of those vehicles can handle going back to being a 'daily driver' after that ? And I think that cow you passed-up could have used some water. Glad to see the comedy bits you put into the video. I thought I was watching a movie for a second there. And I remember that bar from a previous video...stay cool out there !!

I thought for sure the big rock at the beginning was to check your suspension. If you can't do the rock, do not proceed.😁
@douglashall21416 ай бұрын
That's just part of it, it's also to check your tires to see if they won't spin out and lose traction. Traction is everything when it comes to climbing rocks

That must be one slow bouncy ride up to Crown King, I don't think I could take it being a all day ride, I've done that a few times in my RZR, even with around 24 inches of suspension travel I still need to take a Dramamine before I go as I get kind of nauseous. You should try that trail in a side-by-side takes only around an hour or so to go up there. they have pretty good cheeseburgers and fries in that saloon that's for sure.
@sqeekms61866 ай бұрын
I have so been wanting to do the back way from Lake Pleasant to Crown King.. I just need to find someone to go with me just for backup in case something should happen .. I ha.ve done the back way to Crown King but from Prescott and it's not challenging, but it is a nice ride and that Works Burger at the bar there in Crown King is worth it no matter which way you go LOL..

It reminds me of hiking up Mt Washington on snow and ice, then seeing tourists at the top who rode up the cog railway, sitting in the cafeteria complaining about the chili not being as good as their mom makes it. In the summer, it's even worse when anyone can pay to drive up the Auto Road in any car at lower cost than the expensive railway. It can be fun taking the hard way up, but a commercialized summit full of Bozos can sort of ruin it a bit. It is at best, a different sort of fun than arriving somewhere difficult and finding that nobody's been there in quite a while because of how tough it is to get there.
@brianwalker91856 ай бұрын
In 1968 my dad and I drove that route in his 67 Mustang. Obviously, the road is much worse now. I've driven it in a 2wd F100, a 74 and 76 CJ5, a Toyota Land Cruiser wagon, an Izusu Trooper , my 89 4runner...i still have and bought it new...and 3 VWs. I haven't been up there in 20 years. Oh my God how that road has been screwed up. Too much traffic and spinning tires...

I saw a guy on KZbin do that in a stock first generation Sequoia. So I know I shouldn't have any problems lol. If you look at my picture as a picture of my 2005 first generation beast of a sequoia LOL I paid $6,700 for it stock and I put around 60k in it in the past year.. bigger gears front and rear lockers 3 1/2 inch long travel kit sitting on Nitto 35s with method wheels there's a couple of short videos on my page of it. But those were before I had triple bypass shocks relocated outboard in the rear . I've got hydraulic bump stops that are going on it soon I would tell you the name brand but KZbin likes to delete messages when you mentioned companies . But they are the top in the industry every part I put on it .. I call it my midlife crisis truck LOL I just turned 50 today 🙁👴🏼😅

@@wanderingjeepsy A very wise and reasonable decision. But the real question is if you're not going to do hard stuff in the jeep, why not live in something better suited to living in? You could sleep in air-conditioned comfort every night in a Highlander Hybrid. It would also cut your gas and tire expenses in half, and cut other maintenance and repair expenses by more than that. You could keep the channel name, it goes with the person, not the vehicle. You'd still be Jeepsy to us, even if you drove a soccer-mom SUV or minivan, and never spent another night sweating and suffocating. You've proven that you're tough under tough conditions, but neither you nor the pup are getting any younger. You deserve to breathe easy and sleep well.
