Just a thought but with your large yard just design yourself a solar pergola ( high enough to mow under ) or a soar stand of some sort . As long as it is facing south and no trees or your house blokes the sun that would probably be a easy fix for your solar install for your batteries . Also look around your area for anyone selling used panels . The price difference between used and new are outrageous . Then after your done with your testing you want to spend the big bucks you will feel confident in your set up . PS theirs even solar stands you can buy that follow the sun during the day but now your talking the BIG bucks !!
@WanderingWagners9 ай бұрын
Great idea! Thanks for the info about used/new panels. Really never thought of looking for used... Didn't think there were any I guess, but definitely worth the effort to look for them!
@stoneyvanwie60429 ай бұрын
There are several companies on used that guarantee 2 years or 3 years old and they test them for you before they leave. Some are about half price of new ones !@WanderingWagners

In a previous video Mike was putting new lugs on the 4/0 cable that Nexus had ‘hammer crimped’. What hydraulic crimper did he use? The crimp looks truly professional. I noticed in this vid the crimper (which looks like one on Amazon) only goes to 2/0. I have a ratchet crimper from making auto battery cables but it doesn’t compare to Mike’s work.

I’ve read some stuff on that and the only thing I could find that made it sound like it was an issue is when you mount it horizontally. Or if it’s in a really tight confined space. Guess he will keep an eye on it like everything else👍🏻

3 reason I would not put them on your roof . 1 You could damage your roof . 2 Your homeowners insurance may cancel you ( yes that happens ) if it's not done by a certified solar installer/roofer . 3 Your power company may get upset with you thinking you installed solar to your house system without there permission or there fees they charge . They may want to come inside and check your system out and that could open a whole can of worms . I know your system does not backfeed the grid but they will want to make sure .
