When you live somewhere for your entire life, Perth is a great example, there’s kind of not as much you can explore. When you move to a different country you have all these new things to see, experience and do on weekends. I envy people who finally leave Perth, there’s basically nothing here
@Wanderlauren6 жыл бұрын
TheSirensGame so true! I feel there is a lot to do in Perth if you look for it haha. But when you grow up there, you have done it all! Why don’t you move then?!? 😊

England doesn't have extreme weather, Australia, with its months of high temperatures, droughts, and cyclones has extreme weather, the U.K. has temperate weather with no extremes, it is very variable due to it being on the edge of an ocean and the Gulf Stream. It rains a lot in Manchester but not usually very heavily and this is more pronounced as you go South and East.
@Wanderlauren5 жыл бұрын
What I was trying to say by 'extreme weather' is that England has more prominent seasons. In Australia (Perth in particular because thats where I am from) we only experience hot/warm for 9 months of the year and cold and rainy for 3 months in the Winter. Because of this our seasons aren't as prominate in Perth. (Green and lush in Winter & dry and dead in Summer) But in England you really see and experience Summer, Autumn, Winter & Spring. (well maybe not so much the Summer I am used to haha)

@@Wanderlauren i understood you haha and that's something i do like about English weather is it's seasons and it's changeable, it keeps it interesting 👍

Hi Lauren, I have just now found your channel and subscribed. I live in Melbourne Australia. So far, I have never been to England or even Perth for that matter. My in-laws originally came from the UK. My biggest move has been moving from Sydney to Melbourne back in 1981. we use public transport here as well. We have trams, trains and buses. So, it is fairly easy to get around. From what I understand, your trams are light rail like here (Manchester Metro Link). Is there an underground railway in Manchester? Anyway, wishing you the very best. Robert.
@Wanderlauren5 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Unfortunately Manchester isnt big enough to have an underground yet! But we do use the Metrolink (trams) to get around. Thanks for subscribing. :)

Nice enjoyable video blog. glad you like the UK. do you think differently now we`re in 2020. are still in the UK ?
@Wanderlauren4 жыл бұрын
Yes because in Western Australia they haven't had a corona case in a week and everyone is allowed out!!! Take me back!!!!! hahaha but seriously, I do love living in England but its annoying/scary when the UK is still in lockdown with so many cases, while in Perth it seems to be going back to some sort of normality.

Well I wish I lived in Australia, as it has beautiful weather ! UK has terrible weather ! I live in the UK since 2009 and there is not a proper summer here. I don't mind about winter being cold, but when there is no summer, that is when you will feel down :( Otherwise UK is a great country in many ways compared to other countries in the world.
@Wanderlauren4 жыл бұрын
The past 2/3 months in the UK have been amazing weather! and the past 2 summers in the UK have been good! I know what you mean by gloomy weather getting you down, but you've just gotta stay positive! :)
@barzmba26494 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you and I'm quite positive in my life :) I'm just hoping to move to Australia or USA in the future as I don't think I would want to spend all my life in one country ! I think experiencing living in different countries is always a good idea, otherwise it has been good 11 years of my life living in here in the UK. I now live in Bristol, so basically Bristol has warmest weather compared to the other cities in the UK, so not too bad for now haha (having said that summer is still very short here as well and generally in the UK). I used to live in north east of England near Newcastle before moving here in 2016, and I can say that, Newcastle's weather was not good at all, even in the summer, it will only be warm if you are lucky enough for a few weeks (very short summer). Anyway I hope you enjoy living in the UK :)

This seems a little strange to me, as people I know would sell their Granny to move to Perth, for all that sunshine and good living - yet you did the complete opposite and you moved to wet dull Manchester - crazy !!! :)

What do they say "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." Never a truer word was spoken! I lived in s.w. France for 16 years until recently. In all honesty one can get bored with the same weather all of the time. I lived on the Kent coast before I left for France, and sometimes I longed to feel the cold north easterly wind on my face! I would never call the UK dull. We have so much history and interesting places and things to do.

My aunt moved to Sydney, couldn't stand the heat and moved back after a couple of years. There's more to life than the sun and beach culture of Australia.
@Wanderlauren5 жыл бұрын
I don't think Manchester is dull at all. Manchester has a lot more going on than Perth. You may or may not have been to Perth but alot of people make this comment and they usually haven't ever been to Perth or Australia. You don't get to properly experience a city until you have lived in it as well. When I want sun and a beach I just go to somewhere in Europe, they have much better atomsphere then the beaches in Perth!
@davidholgate1234 жыл бұрын
I've been to most Australian cities and they all look the same to me, very little personality. Also I think it's telling that most Brits who emigrate abroad end up coming back to live in the UK!
