@@wyskz what happened to his friend?
@wyskz2 жыл бұрын
@@marimfarag15 Yibo and his friend (Cho Seungyoun) debuted in the same kpop group called UNIQ. Due to the political issue between China and Korea (the Hallyu ban) their group are on a hiatus, all the Chinese members are working in China whereas the Korean members are working in Korea now. They haven’t seen each other 4+ years but are still in contact with each other and talk to each other once in a while. Seungyoun is a successful soloist now called WOODZ, he also went on Produce x 101 and debuted in X1

@@wyskz but isn't there are many groups which has chinese and korean members then why are they only in hiatus??
@wyskz2 жыл бұрын
@@harshalipawar1507 UNIQ is a kpop and cpop group and was insanely popular in China, won a lot of rookie awards and even broke exo-m’s record. In China, they went on a lot of variety shows, music shows, had their own reality show, fanmeetings, concerts and ALL of them appeared in several c dramas together (even the korean members) Compared to other kpop groups they were more involved in China and Cpop than kpop. They were well loved by the Chinese public and because of that, their company “YueHua Entertainment” grew to become the biggest entertainment company in China today (it’s as big/worth as much the Big Three (YG,JYP, SM) if not, bigger). Most of the members are Chinese (3 out of 5) . they were starting to get popular in 2016 which was when the Hallyu ban started. This is probably why it affected them more than other groups. They couldn’t appear together in China because the ban was really strict at the time and the Korean netizens started to hate the chinese members and vice versa. So the company decided to give them solo activities. The group began to focus on their solo and stopped promoting together Also with wayv, I’m not too sure about them but i think it’s because the time when they debuted the hallyu ban started to get lifted. Also it’s important to note that, although WayV releases Chinese songs, they never went on Chinese music shows, variety show and acted in cdramas together as a group like what UNIQ did . And they don’t promote as much in China compared to Korea. UNIQ promoted a lot in China to the point where the Korean members became fluent in Chinese in less that a year and they were able to go on variety shows by themselves without a member or translator there with them to translate UNIQ as well as some other Chinese idols like EXO’s lay and the Chinese members of WJSN, got hated and ‘cancelled’ for commemorating the Chinese lives lost during the war between Korea, so these idols are currently promoting in China whereas other Chinese idols like Yuqi can still work in Korea as they haven’t commorated the Chinese lives lost and haven’t done anything that offended the Koreans. Most of the time, it’s also because of Korean netizens as they have alot of hatred towards Chinese idols. This is evident with EVERGLOW and Wang Yiren. Although EVERGLOW are doing well, some Korean netizens stated that they wouldn’t support them just because they’re from a Chinese company and because there’s a Chinese member in it.
